Sim Hutchins is back to save dance music on C18230.5, the follow-up to his chart-topping club classics collection Clubeighteen2thirty. Released in April this year, Clubeighteen2thirty drew from both the positives and negatives of Sim’s clubbed out youth - as focused on existential crises and lost comrades as transformative trips and life-affirming experiences - on a record that doubled as a requiem for his raving days and an realist’s depiction of dance music in 2018.

On C18230.5, Sim presents new tracks from the album sessions and remixes from three of clubland’s finest current artists. ‘Pissing WKD Blue’ and ‘Like Herding Cats’ both take the album’s key tropes - harmonic distortion, interference and at-times-overwhelming digital FX - and apply them to weighty UK soundsystem traditions, while LOFT, object blue and algorave standard-bearer Renick Bell take on three of the record’s biggest hits.
