Heavy Chill (Vol. 1)

This mix was private for the last 6 months because of how special the night was. 

Nothing short of a magical cathartic experience. I got invited to play a small gathering in a beautiful house in the Slocan Valley. It took about 20-30 mins to get into the flow but once we were on the wave, we went  in... and we stayed in it for hours. Maintained flow state for nearly 4 hours with no substances. It felt like some channels opened that night, ripened to do some deep healing as we welcomed brighter days ahead.

So much gratitude for the opportunity to share this experience with you all. I've been on quite the healing path myself and this feels like a pinnacle of sorts. To reach three and a half hours of flow state in tune with a body of people connected on the same level. This night was what I needed to push me through to the the next chapter.

I re-recorded this and took out some of the filler tracks so it's 3 hours out of the almost 4. But still enough to bring us back to such a monumental night.

So much gratitude for the opportunity to bring in my first sunrise at the Grove. Big thanks to everyone that puts in their everything to make this place what it is. It blows my mind how many collaborations sprouted from this place - you people are magic. 

It took a minute for the nerves to settle for this set but we made it through. Thank you to everyone that made it out 🙏🏾🙏🏾 And it's ALWAYS all gravy if you didn't. That's why I release such recordings ;) 

This year ended up being one of my favourites for many reasons, the main one being that I've become more centred and balanced in my life. This set gets a little meditative so I hope this music helps you unwind and tap into your Self.

The name Melo.Nade stems from the fluid flow of the sound. With a diverse musical palette and almost 20 years of experience behind decks, Melo.Nade has refined his ability to read and move crowds at any time of day. Balancing dark and light, you can expect to hear sounds from deep dubstep to lustful world beats, breaks/garage, grime/hip-hop/trip-hop/soul/R&B, and thought-provoking bass music. Melo.Nade’s recent festival appearances in 2023 include Envision, Wicked Woods, and Shambhala. 
Beyond beats, Melo.Nade's music holds purpose. A life-altering traumatic brain injury in 2019 shaped the trajectory of his artistry, leading him to embrace a shift in perspective and boundaries for self-care. To him, music and dance is a conduit for emotional release, a vehicle that empowers listeners to work through inner tensions and find solace through the cathartic embrace of sonic vibrations. As a classically trained pianist driven by a passion for sonic exploration, Melo.Nade brings a unique perspective to his productions that fuse instrumental and world music with trip hop, dubstep, and sound system culture. Music production has been essential in Melo.Nade’s healing journey and he aspires to produce music that invokes healing for his listeners.  
Whether it's a one hour festival set that turns into a 3+ hour happenstance, Melo.Nade is prepared to keep the dance going with heavy chill vibrations.
