Infusing sultry sounds and rich grooves, is Soul Button's latest EP ʻSwift Mindsʼ. It's his first Steyoyoke release for 2014 and once again, it's those soaring melodies and uplifting vibes that will have every deep house lover feeling satisfied in no time. Comprising of two originals and two remixes from up and comers Dahu and Whomi, it is with no surprise that ʻSwift Mindsʼ is launched with much anticipation.

The title track ʻSwift Mindsʼ is both vibrant and bold, bringing with it a strong sense of great depth and beauty. Possessing a steady bass line and deep haunting riffs, it is also delicately laced with the lullaby styled vocals of Kara Square. The power behind her voice, literally draws you in and attunes your ears to a chorus of divine whispers.

ʻ7th Heavenʼ is quickly defined by it's intensity and subtle progression. Creating a solid backdrop of uplifting grooves, this track has the presence and strength to put a spell on you. Stabbing synths and hard hitting hats are complimented perfectly with an array of harmonious bells and chimes which wash over you like a melodic wave.

In a mirrored parallel of ʻSwift Mindsʼ, Whomi's remix maintains all the sultry characteristics of it's original. However it is a much punchier version, allowing for some of the tracks more unique features to surface. Expect darker soundscapes and intricately layered percussion.

The final track on ʻSwift Mindsʼ is Dahu's remix of ʻ7th Heavenʼ. Silver lined with authentic underground sounds, Dahu chooses a slightly more stripped back approach for this remix. Raw dark melodies and hefty bass lines are the key elements in revealing this tracks inner twisted elegance.

Joachim Pastor comes back to his Hungry Music homebase with a brand new EP, which embodies once again so well the unique and well crafted Pastor touch.

"Eternity" is a dreamy piece built around a delicate xylophone theme. A heavy bassline, vibrant synth layers, and punchy hi-hats give depth and strength to the wide melodic aesthetic. The result is an hybrid banger that will never disappoint, whether you're at home or in a club.

Next up is the very ambitious and powerful "Millenium". Its main theme intricates perfectly with the more clubby elements of this techno anthem. As always, Joachim pulls off a perfect combination of sensitive synthesizers and catchy beats.

Space and time both play a role in pølaroit’s music. A felt connection to Jonas and Marius’ hometowns in Northern Germany, their geography, as well as a sense of pertaining to a specific instant in time, a generation, are both expressed in the duo’s strain of melodic deep house, “We see our music as a snapshot of time and music,” they say. 

Their second EP, "Pure", which is coming out on 23rd of October via Christian Löffler’s Ki Records, continues to draw on the dichotomy of these two emotions but this time around there’s a bigger sense of presence and liveliness. Through the use of field recordings and vocals, pølaroit wants to rescue the human and organic element of creativity in their music, “Sometimes it's just a recording of rumbling leaves or organic textures that make the sound more tangible.” 

The title track, "Pure" features field recordings of a brick smashing against a wall - with it the veneer of perfection is also shattered.  Their interest in “keeping things real” also informs the gear the duo chooses to work with - mainly analog synths and tape machines. Somewhere between melancholic downtempo and uplifting melodies, Pure is as introspective as it is dancefloor-ready. It rescues the human and organic elements of electronic music-making and is a catchy triumph in experimental minimal electronic music.
