International Deejay Gigolo Records are releasing the second set of remixes of DJ Hell produced techno cut “Guede”, taken from his 5th studio album “Zukunftsmusik”. This release features remixes by ARTBAT and Black Peters. “Guedes’” soundscape is acidic, yet minimal, with its distorted vocals and raucous instrumentation lending the track an eerie and at times ethereal vibe. Each artist breathes new life into the original cut, steering it in their own direction, whilst never completely abandoning the track’s core identity. ARTBAT’s remix is a decidedly more pumped up and energetic, dance floor ready reimagination of the track and Black Peters keeps the acid and delves into a thick and gripping atmosphere.

With much pride we present our second release of the year, coming from dutch wonderboy Beswerda, who makes his debut on the label with a solid dark melodic techno EP entitled ‘Sisters Car’ including remixes from VNTM (who released his “Wanderer at night EP” recently on WEITER), and the talented Erly Tepshi. 
 
Beswerda, who recently released music on Tronic, Pursuit and Infinite Depth, has been on Olivier Weiter’s radar for quite some time. Both the title track and ‘Missing Piece’ have been personal favorites from Weiter since a while, being a highlight in every DJ set. Powerful, steady grooves combined with dark, melodic elements. Hypnotizing people from the start, both tracks dive into a euphoric breakdown, kicking in strong with a surprising melody afterwards. Beswerda’s signature sound can be heard clearly in both records - while listening to the tracks you just know they're going to work well on the dance floor!

Koen Beswerda is a Rotterdam based melodic techno dj/producer and started producing electronic music in the year 2015. This year he really started pushing and releasing his own tracks to share with everyone. With his debut on a Various Artist album on Tronic label from the legendary Christian Smith, it’s a promising start to his career. A lot of unreleased tracks are already supported by artists like Pan-Pot, Richy Hawtin and Kevin de Vries, which will come out in the near future. With the great feedback and collaborations he’s working on, we can assure you that Beswerda is a new talented artist to watch.

Birmingham’s Kiz Pattison has had a busy year. Hot off his remix for progressive legend Sandra Collins and Micke on Stripped Recordings, Kiz has managed to turn heads in 2019 with reworks on other notable labels like D-formation's Beatfreak Recordings, Lonya’s well known Asymmetric Recordings, and Re:Sound. Kiz makes his debut on Pangea with his original work 'Ground Zero', displaying his unique sound by utilizing an array of effects and melody, underscored and driven by Kiz's signature progressive straight beat.

London-based Audioglider, otherwise known as Roberto Sodano, has been writing, recording, and honing his craft for years. His first break came with two exclusive tracks on Nick Warren’s GU30 Paris, to much critical acclaim, quickly followed by two EPs , Halcyon, and Slight Return, and remixes on Glenn Morrison’s digital label Morrison Recordings. 

He's a master of 80's inspired downtempo, weaving a shoegazing sensibility together with a funk and dub based rhythm section, that’s not afraid to utilize some of the more interesting structures found in more club based music. He cites influences ranging from Ulrich Schnauss and Massive Attack, to Tori Amos and Talking Heads and you can hear shades of all of these in his music.

Following up 2018’s rapturously received album Head Control Body Control, The Micronauts presents Head Remixes: a four-track remix EP with contributions from leading electronic artists Popof, VONDA7, S3A and Nomenklatür. 

Today we showcase two stalwarts of the French underground techno scene, Nomenklatür. Their version of Dirt is an electrifying combination of electro and synth-wave, forming a futuristic track that also nods to the past: MS-DOS as re-imagined for 2019.

Each track on the Head Remixes EP is unique, with all the artists involved delivering intensely creative and personal versions, beautifully complementing The Micronauts’ original vision.

A French electronic music pioneer with more than 20 years’ experience, Monier formed the band Discotique with Patrick Vidal who produced the first EP on France’s first ever techno label, Rave Age Records. A founding member of eDEN – the legendary collective, first French fanzine dedicated to house and techno and inspiration for Mia Hansen-Løve’s recent feature film of the same name – Monier, started The Micronauts in 1995, initially alongside fellow producer George Issakidis, before it became a solo project in 2000. 

Last year he released Head Control Body Control. The Micronauts’ third album, and the first for more than a decade since 2007’s Damaging Consent, it ranged from left-field techno and acid to house, bass, electronica and indie dance. An extraordinarily rich and diverse record; Head Control Body Control revealed fresh nuances and sonic delights with every visit, and was a truly joyous and revelatory listen from start to finish.

A rainforest sanctuary. A phenomenon neglected from every atlas. Colours, shapes, creatures native to the sunburnt bushlands, fill the labyrinth. A truly distinctive display of vibrance. The passageway walls are penetrated by beams of light that set aglow greens and golds, purples and blue hues. Darkness occupies the leafy edge and ominous corners, shrouding the maze in thrill. The journey takes many forms. The destination unbeknownst to those within the labyrinth, but the destination remains unimportant.

Bassic Records’ second instalment of ‘Labyrinth: Lost In Techno’ showcases the definitive and colourful styles of Australian electronic dance music, ever growing in popularity. Influenced heavily by nature and the unique dance events that take place in the great outdoors, the sound takes form as progressive and psychedelic jaunts of techno and house, driven by emotive storytelling.

The 14 track compilation comprises of label stalwarts Doppel, Gabriel Moraes, Ark-E-Tech, Rainbird, TAYA, EEEMUS, John Baptiste, Käse Kochen, Monotreme, Victor Y, and collaborators Nanoplex (UK), Waveback (IT), Mud (IT/DE), Spintribe (RU), Diamandy (SE), Sandokan (IL), Charles Oliver, Biomass, Mecca, Samwise and Yokobus.

At an average tempo of 125bpm, the compilation reaches a beefy 127 with ‘Spurge’ by Gabriel Moraes and is rounded off with the deep intricate closer, Mud’s ‘Mistakes’ at a smooth 113 bpm. Exploring an array of unique sub genres, some tracks can be identified as progressive techno, progressive house, psytech, deep techno, others are difficult to categorize into anything.

We call it ‘bush techno’.

The Virgo label boss Ilario Alicante presents the first in a series of
collaboration EP's with many recognised artists of the Electronic music scene.

The first episode consists of two collab-tracks with Kevin De Vries, who is well known for his releases on Afterlife. The track “Dystopia” merges a driving bass-synth line with mysterious melodies, the second is “Lotus” recognised with retro-wave arpeggios and pads, orchestrated by a refined techno groove making a unique adrenaline rush.

Kevin himself includes two of his own solo-tracks, including the noteworthy “Dragon of Eden”, that is already known in many of Ilario’s DJ sets. The track takes the listener on a voyage through charming melodies accompanied by the unmistakable groove of the Berlin-based artist.
