Release Info: 
Born in Newcastle in the North of England, a place steeped in dance music heritage, JOBE was initiated into the club scene at an early age. Despite ‘getting involved’ most weekends, and surrounding himself with other music heads, it wasn’t until his close friend was given turntables for Christmas that he realized he wanted to embark on a career in music. 

Many years later, with countless hours of vinyl hunting under his belt, he was DJing in the local bars and clubs of Leicester where he attended university. Despite enjoying his years in Leicester, recognizing it as the place he truly evolved musically, he longed for more and decided to take the right steps to progress further in the scene. JOBE wanted to pursue the full time career, however he realized that the scene had evolved over recent years, and in order to play at the more prestigious venues it was vital to have a strong output as a producer, as well as a DJ. However at this point, he had never even considered music production, but recognized it as the most pivotal step to becoming a successful DJ. So he made the bold decision, which seemed counterintuitive at the time, to step back from the decks and spend the next few years learning music production.

Fast forward to current times we can say JOBE has succeeded in his plans, as by now he can proudly say he's been signed to labels such as Sincopat, Connaisseur, Chapter 24, Selador, Movement Recordings and now.. Manual Music!

Siege Of Syracuse is his Manual debut EP on which we see the UK producer unleash three intense pieces of work, bordering between progressive house and melodic techno. A big EP by one of the fast rising stars of electronic music!

It was nearly a year ago when these two graced with their hugely successful track ‘Hope’ on our ‘Watergate XV’ various artist compilation. Matthias Meyer and Ryan Davis come together again to deliver the stunning ‘Love Letters From Sicily’ where infectious organic grooves pave the way for a flourishing well of emotions in the form of lush pads and shimmering sonics that unfold into a tale of epic cinematic proportions. From start to finish it’s a intimate piece of aural imagery, yet the duo always keep a keen percussive focus making it ideal for any dancefloor moment. 

To complement ‘Love Letters from Sicily’, we’ve enlisted the one and only John Digweed to rework Meyer and Davis’ original of ‘Hope’, and with no surprise, he’s given it the master’s touch. Staying true to the original, while at the same time reinventing the storyline and constructing tension by saving the powerful harmonies for a later climax, he’s crafted a revision that’s both driving and timeless.

‘Reborn’ is the fortieth release of Aftertech Records. Green Tolek is a French producer who makes powerful melodic techno, 
a perfect fit to the Aftertech family. This four track EP is accompanied by no one less than our own Reig and Balad who 
show their talents once again in their interpretation of Reborn and Oxe.

“Oxe” begins with a strong and deep kick accompanied by a sweet and mesmerizing melody which slowly grows into something 
more ominous and dark. Together with smartly placed percs and a groovy bassline this is a track which will get the people 
moving on the dancefloor for sure! After a small breakdown, wailing brass sounds echo through space, adding perfectly to 
the wonderful atmosphere which Green Tolek has created in Oxe. A job very well done!

As the dust settles on our 100th release celebrations with all its pomp and ceremony, it’s time to get back to life, back to reality, to what we do best, back to the business of serving up the freshest, quality club music from some of the world’s finest electronic music producers. 

And what better way to do that than with a debut EP for the label from Christian Nielsen. It’s likely that anyone with even a passing interest in dance music will have encountered the Danish Producer’s work at some point. Through his releases on such esteemed labels as Kompakt, Toolroom and  FFRR, his resumé speaks for itself. 

Here he offers a brace of heavenly creations in ‘After Midnight’ & ‘Indestructible’ with two of our most trusted label stalwarts, EdOne & Florian Kruse both chipping in with their own perspectives, adding further weight to an already hefty package. 

In many ways, this EP exemplifies all we stand for with its finger firmly on-the-pulse of contemporary dance music, full of flair and imagination yet unwavering in its primary objective, to light up the dance floor.

Danish DJ & producer, Christian Nielsen, is an artist who seemed to come out of nowhere. Working in an office by day and developing his musical craft by night. His classic sound already gained popularity most notably on Gorge and Nick Curly’s 8BIT and Jesse Rose’s Play it Down. With influences from Kerri Chandler, Jimpster, Mr. V, Master At Work, Larry Heard, Moodymann and the late Frankie Knuckles, he’s a firm advocate of dance-floor ready house and is one of the most interesting producers to arrive on our radar of late.

Born in Spain, with a musical ear since a young age, EdOne began to release music in 2013. His first label was VIVa MUSiC of Steve Lawler followed by labels such as Defected & Material. In 2014 he joined forces with Bodden & produced a track called ‘Do It’ on OFF Recordings that hit the Beatport’s Top 2. He’s played around Europe in clubs like Lightbox (London) and Lauter Unfug (Luxembourg). After a serious accident, he went through recovery and restarted his career as a solo artist, releasing on Definition, Endless, Stil vor Talent, and Suara. 2017 was an important year with gigs in Germany at Ritter Butzke (Berlin), Odonien (Cologne), Musikbunker (Aachen), Tanzhaus West (Frankfurt), and Verboten (Mainz), amongst many others.

Mulya and Sobek author our next Chapter, reprising a creative relationship which has already borne significant fruit. Their work has seen them find a home together with labels including Monaberry and TAU, while they have been picked up individually by imprints including Bedrock and Get Physical.

Here they offer three big hitters. Title track Mirrored Screen opens things in style, its chunky afro techno groove offset by an enigmatic synth line and a choppy single note pattern that is laden with tension. Tribal vocals add to the mix before the main hook opens out and satisfyingly hits home.

Shaking Hands is the follow up, built around a distorted, pitching percussive groove for a determinedly heads down, wild affair that is bound to move the dancefloor.

Rounding things off, Hard Curve is just as heavyweight. Equally moody and foreboding as it is hypnotic and driving, it comes paired with an Edition by breakout artist Rinzen (mau5trap). Rinzen's rework is progressive and euphoric, communicating and deploying a sense of scale that is reminiscent of classic Sasha or Stephan Bodzin.

Rinzen's Edition makes for a fitting closer to a very strongly rounded EP from Mulya & Sobek.

Italian producer and Fine Human Records label head Dino Lenny lands on Crosstown Rebels for the first time this November, bringing his distinct and personal style to the label on the absorbing Doctor, also featuring a remix from Nuiton.

The haunting, emotive vocals of Dino impress throughout on Doctor, chugging groove moves alongside waves of dark electronics and panic-struck, devilish synth. A track crafted to capture the inner workings of Lenny’s mind, transforming them into a hypnotic piece. Nuiton remixes Doctor on the reverse, adding energy to the original with skipping hats and quirky arrangements, building tension that reaches an intense jazzy crescendo of percussion and brass to leave you in a headspin. On the digital release a dub version loses the voice but retains the mysticism.

With almost 30 years of releasing records under his belt, Dino Lenny has naturally built an incredible back catalogue of remixes and collaborations. He’s worked with some of the biggest names in the business, yet his productions retain a unique style that is all his own. A true lover of the 80s, when he needs that extra touch he will add his vocals to the music, always trying to deliver something original that will stand the test of time, often opting for imperfect unique experience over precise emotionless never-ending loops. Alongside this, he has remixed huge names like Missy Elliott and Timbaland and has collaborated with legends including Madonna, Wu-Tang Clan, Seth Troxler and Dixon. Lenny has been named as “a wizard of electronic music” by the Chemical Brothers, played live with Underworld, released music on the likes of Crosstown Rebels sister label Rebellion, Innervisions, Diynamic, Cocoon & Correspondant, and is currently signed to Ellum. Constantly evolving his sound, Dino is unpredictable & eclectic.
