'MUUI returns to the label with another unique 3-tracker - ‘Silent Signals EP’. The Berlin-based live act continues to create waves with tracks signed to Evocative and Suprematic already this year, it looks to be another strong year for the enigmatic artist. 

Opening with the title track, ‘Silent Signals’ is a sombre bass experiment with stark cinematic soundtrack backdrops. Rock solid from the off, the sparse groove soon livens up with pads and sonics playfully interconnecting to create a wonderous audio tapestry.

Next, ‘Lambent Control’ starts off in a wildly differing way. Tribal, with snappy percussion, the trademark pads and melodics weave along a melancholy path. Finally, ‘Pious Vault’ ties everything together with phat 808 kicks, meandering melodies and soaring pads. Mind music par excellencé.s'

'Endangered Records welcomes Avant to the label, with a 3-track EP of passionate & distinctive melodic techno.

After years of perfecting his craft in the studio, Avant makes his artist debut with the Empathic EP on Brian Cid’s Endangered label. Already a regular at famed clubs like Gewölbe and Reineke Fuchs in his hometown of Cologne, Germany, Avant’s driving rhythms and dynamic melodies are a perfect fit for the sound of Endangered.

“Spectral” is the first track of the EP and starts it off with a tribal beat, arpeggiated synth melody, and a tension building breakdown. The title track “Empathic” follows, and picks up the pace with a driving feel. A powerful melody is teased and built up throughout, with the full effect coming in after the drop. “Module” is the finale, and closes this chapter of Avant’s debut with a dark and groovy melodic chugger.

Avant describes his thoughts behind the EP and label: “I try to take the listener on a journey showcasing the different styles and facets which define my music. This ranges from my typical productions that consist of only a few elements and being very melodic & driving, to productions that include more drum and percussion elements which are more rare for me. I have been following Brian’s productions and his label activities for a long time. He attaches great importance to taking the listeners on a journey with his music, as well as with the releases selected for Endangered. This is something I try to reflect in all of my music and sets as well.”

US house and techno imprint Loot Recordings welcome India’s Filtergeist.
The Invocation EP sees Filtergeist, aka Aditya Prabhu, deliver three original tracks while Innvervisions’ INVŌKER, All Day I Dream’s Roi Okev and Silence Path supply remixes. Title track ‘Invocation’ opens the EP in mesmerising style with drifting chimes, washing soundscapes and distant voices sat on top of a bassline which asserts itself throughout.
INVOKER’s remix of ‘Invocation' channels the hypnotic aesthetic of the original but takes a less organic approach with tough, filtered synth tones providing counterpoint to the soft melodies and vocals.
'Deja Vu’ follows and shows Prabhu’s knack for providing immense detail and otherworldly yet organic sounds while keeping one eye firmly on the groove. Roi Okev, an artist who has also cropped up on Little Helpers, delivers a moody, heavier interpretation which brings the drums and bottom end to the forefront while teasing just the right amount of melodic ebb and flow.
‘Wisterian Waves’ closes out the EP with undulating, pacy toms and rich, textural toplines while Silence Path reworks it into a playful, heavily organic piece of trippy funk.
Filtergeist’s ‘Invocation EP’ is released on Loot Recordings on 17th July.
