About the EP =>
Bremer was one of our most beloved discoveries of 2017. We didn't hesitate to get in contact with the young man, who would soon join our family. Now, one year later we have a collaboration between him and rising talent Nordfold for one of our sleakest releases, we have put out yet. Rounding up the EP with near perfection, is a remix coming from our very own Sam Goku.

Main titel track „Yano" builds a fancy dance arrangement around an incredible vocal sample from 1976 sung by Akiko ‚Yano'. An Uplifting synth lead, organic percussion patterns and Yano's vocals create an asian touched atmosphere, that stands out in an era of uncountable music productions.

With nostalgic, rolling basslines and iconic vocal pads from the 80's, „Helmer" embodies the sound of retro. As big lovers of Drive and new synth-wave generation, this production is truly an affair of the heart for us. A fantastic B-Side rounding up the theme of fusing old and new elements in the best way possible.

With finesse and gentle care, Sam Goku returns on Nie Wieder Schlafen with his second remix and yet again, it has the potential to fascinate the masses, while maintaining an incredibly humble underground sound. Inspired by the Original, Sam Goku extends on what was there, rather than drastically changing it. A light-hearted piano melody and Goku's characteristic pads elevate the original's core elements to an even dreamier state, while maintaining the fantastic groove and adding beefier low-fequencies.

Gab Rhome is known for dreamy and melodic music. His productions have appeared on top labels, including All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Kindisch and Last Night on Earth. Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint continues its 2018 journey by welcoming George X to the label for his debut single. The Greek artist has a meticulous discography highlighted by appearances on Dream Culture, Get Weird and Magician On Duty where his unique take on deep house has found favour with John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Now stepping up for his first appearance on Sound Avenue George presents his latest single 'Nahuati' alongside remixes from Cosmic Cowboys and PHCK.

Although Robert and Sam have been doing music together as umami for almost nine years, „In Exchange For Everything“ is their first album. This name is an actual description of what happened. They literally did not release anything else for two years while working on the album. It was like a spaceship with a broken engine that needed to be fixed. But now it is ready to take off.
The tracks and songs on the album are all trying to capture a specific kind of feeling. The way you feel when you are riding up in an elevator made of glass, see the sunrise on the horizon and know that this is the first day of the rest of your life.
	Some of them are made for the club, like „Behind The Wheel“ or „Stank“. Others have a more laid-back vibe. „Number Of The Beast“, a cover of an Iron Maiden song, is a dance around the bonfire, summoning devils and demons.  „Stars“ is about a journey into the intimacy of really knowing another person, with hammering synths and airy vocals, which are performed by Sam, like all other vocals on the album.
	The one exception to this is are the vocals on "Terra Mount". These are written and performed by Monolink, the only other artist featured on the album. Enchanted organs and choirs accompany his lyrics throughout the song.
	The album ends with the magical "And Stay With Me There Forever", a song that slowly transforms from a small stream of fragile sounds to an avalanche of bass and synths.
All in all, „In Exchange For Everything“ is the big statement umami wanted to make with their first album. Something that shows the whole spectrum of what they want to achieve with this project and a hint about where the journey goes.

Premiere: Hefemony - Sintax And Balance | Hugebook Records

Do Not Sit On The Furniture return with more sonic tonics to soften the blow of these strange, uncertain times. Positive, contemplative frequencies that stir something deep within and touch that emotional rush only music can spark. This time the rushes come courtesy of El Mundo. 

Following a whole slew of collaborations with Zazou, the Dutchman returns with his first solo EP since November 2017. A powerful rush of the senses, brewed over the last few years, there's a deep soul and subtle sense of hope in each cut. 

'Wandering' takes the lead. Less of an amble, more of a proud stride; there's something stoic in those sombre rising chords that gradually open out like clouds parting for the sun. Watch out of the epic late entering vocal. She'll take you by surprise in the best possible way. 

The solar soul continues as 'Little Steps Towards The Sun' maintains that sense of optimism with a gentle escalating arpeggio that builds with more and more layers, chords, synths and voices right through to the stunning crescendo.
