About the artist
Donna-Marie A.K.A Donna Birt hails from Auckland, New Zealand. She plays Progressive House, Melodic Techno & Minimal Techno. She's am influenced by the likes of Maceo Plex , D-Nox, HOSH, Tinlicker, Nanoplex, blaktone, Grum, Ann Clue and Boris Brejcha to name a few.
Donna started DJing back in 2001, where she heavily featured on the London party circuit, playing at all of the major venues in London. She could be found regularly playing at the likes of Brixton Academy, Camden Palace (now KOKO), The Fridge, Shepherds Bush Empire, Turnmills, Egg London, Scala and Ministry of Sound. She also toured internationally throughout South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and to the US to San Francisco where she earned a reputation for her style of chunky, groovy and driving techy vibes. Early forays into the studio saw some of her productions released on Nukleuz CDR. Since returning home to NZ, her sound has refined and matured to what you hear today.

Nickon Faith is a 23 year old up and coming producer from Manchester. Nickon has had music play a driving force for most of his life, and took to production at around 2015, building up a repertoire of lush melodic techno and progressive deep house productions as his signature genre. However, also touching on a variety of influences from the likes of breakbeat and industrial techno. Nickon Faith has been honing his craft over the years and has started sculpting a distinct sound for himself as a producer that marries atmosphere, ambience and energy in the form of lush progressive soundscapes, breakbeats and dense acid basslines.

Nickon Faith is going to spread some of his work with the track 'Release Me', a great track full of power and to complement this huge track, Carlos Pires, Eleven of July and Zaria gave us three amazing remixes.

Trying to capture the sonic attitude of Chuck Mangione - part of the instrumental Jazz Fusion (Cinematic Jazz) album featuring compositions by Gregor Theelen - newly arranged with added instrumentation by Peter Heckmann. 

The album mix is intentionally crafted with a distinct "live recording" vibe and not overly polished -  a sonic homage to the contemporary Jazz Fusion style of the late 1970's & 1980's (Weather Report, Stanley Clarke, Pat Metheny, Branford Marsalis etc.)

We are very excited to present you our 50th Chrom Recordings release! An important number for our label, so let's celebrate this in our typical style, by launching again a fresh name into the scene: Leon Mills, a Belgian dj/producer influenced by decades of electronic music. Leon has a musical love for Melodic House, Techno & Disco music with atmospherical feelings. His dj journey started in the late 90's in small clubs in Belgium where he developed an eclectic style and appreciation for the whole musical spectrum. In 2015 he released his first but also his only official track so far, before disappearing from the scene. But now 5 years later, Leon is finally ready for the next musical chapter in his life, where music will play a central role again. The need and feeling to translate his feelings into music is bigger than ever. So the time has come to for him to share new music with the world and his future looks bright with several releases already planned, and already one EP released on Kitchen Recordings a few weeks ago.

Melancholy, Melodies & Memories are some keywords that best describe the style of Leon Mills. And that's exactly what you will hear in his Chrom EP which is called "Decade", containing 2 original track of which both are supported by a strong remixer. The title track is remixed by our label manager himself. In his typical style Pedro Mercado turns "Decade" into a real melodic club weapon. The second track "Beyond" is remixed by Cowlam, a progressive and melodic techno producer from Darlington, UK, who has developed his own sound of cinematic techno based on deep & dark melodies. His breakthrough came last year with releases on labels such as Awen, Beatfreak, Duenia, Freegrant, MIR, Uxoa Dutxa Elite,... but he caught mainly our attention with his track "Jupiter" on Project 13 which was one of our favorite tracks of 2020: epic, energetic & hypnotic melodic techno, and that's how this remix from Cowlam on Chrom sounds too!

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
