"By the rivers of Babylon, / There we sat down; indeed, we wept / When we remembered Zion." (Psalm 137:1) 

The footnote on this verse touches on how when we fall and are brought back to the Lord, we taste the sweetness of His mercy in restoring us. Recently, this sweet reminiscence has been my testimony. Oh Lord, how your sovereignty has touched my heart! Even though I was once fallen and lost, You were faithful to restore me, and now I give my life to be for You. I know that through this continuous consecration, the Lord will be faithful to fully perfect me and keep my heart clean and pure as His dwelling place for the fulfillment of His purpose. Praise the Lord.

In captivity, the Lord’s lost sheep
When remembering the place- Mount Zion
Oh, how it made them to sit and weep

    Oh Lord! Through all Your mercy
    Restored I am- how sweet
    I was fallen and lost in a foreign land
    But You were faithful, now here I am

On the willows in the midst of it
They took their lyres and hung them up
For in their eyes no longer were they fit
The songs of Zion, they had sung

And in sorrow, they cursed themselves
Saying “Let my hand forget its skill,
And let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth
If you, Jerusalem, I forget”
