Among all the trees in the garden of Eden, only two are mentioned by name: (1) the tree of life and (2) the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:9). These two trees represent two principles by which a Christian can live: (1) the principle of life and (2) the principle of good and evil.

Eating the tree of the knowledge of good and evil results in death (Genesis 2:17), and the devil is the source of death (Hebrews 2:14). Christ is the source of life (John 11:25, 14:6); He came that we may have life (John 10:10; Colossians 3:4); and He even presented Himself as a vine (John 15:5)—a low-growing, accessible, fruit-bearing tree!

Today, every Christian is like a miniature “garden of Eden.” According to Romans 8:6, our mind is between two choices—just like Adam and Eve in the garden. If we choose to set our mind on the flesh, the result is death. If we choose to set our mind on our human spirit, where Christ dwells (Romans 8:10, 16), the result is life and peace!

Contacting Christ as life in our human spirit is the way to eat Him as the tree of life (John 6:57; Revelation 2:7). At the end of the Bible, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is gone, but the tree of life is an eternal enjoyment to the believers in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 22:14).

Why Do You Struggle?

The Bible reveals that God is a sovereign Potter who created human beings as vessels to be filled with Him. Isaiah 64:8 says, “But now, Jehovah, You are our Father; we are the clay; and You, our Potter; and all of us are the work of Your hand.”

When we receive God’s salvation in Christ, we receive Jesus Christ into us. Like water fills a cup, Jesus Christ fills our human spirit. And as we enjoy Him day by day, He spreads into our thoughts, feelings, and intentions. He is the “treasure in earthen vessels” (2 Corinthians 4:7).

This song is full of prayers to be filled with the Lord. It was originally written for a young people's conference titled "Vessels unto Honor." It’s also the title track of our new album, “I’m Your Vessel.”

According to 2 Peter 3:12, the kind of person we are can hasten the Lord’s return.

The earth and those who live in it are the Lord’s (Psalm 24:1). The Lord Jesus Christ is “the King of those who reign as kings and Lord of those who rule as lords” (1 Timothy 6:15).

Yet God’s enemy, Satan, and his “spiritual forces of evil” (Ephesians 6:12) reject the Lord’s rule. Under this influence, many of the human race do not acknowledge Jesus as Lord.

Philippians 2:10-11 says that “in the name of Jesus every knee should bow . . . and every tongue should openly confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

One day, all knees will bow. But we can confess Him as Lord today. Even now, we can proclaim Him King of Kings. We can allow Him to rule in us, day by day, as we watch for His return.

“This is the generation of those who seek Him, / Those who seek Your face. . . . Lift up your heads, O gates; / And be lifted up, O long enduring doors; / And the King of glory will come in” (Psalm 24:6-7).

One Day All Knees Will Bow

Exodus 33:11 says, “Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” The Lord is longing to speak to us—we just need to allow Him to draw us to Himself, morning by morning.

“O God, You are my God; early will I seek You” (Psalm 63:1).

We wrote this song a long time ago, and we’re happy to finally release a recording of it as part of our new album, “I’m Your Vessel.”

 Saint Jean, une fresque musicale
Saint Jean – Une fresque musicale est une œuvre chorale en 12 chansons qui retrace la vie et le message de Jean l’Apôtre, le disciple bien-aimé de Jésus.
De son appel au bord du lac de Galilée à son testament d’amour à Éphèse, l’album explore toutes les étapes de sa vie :
* le jeune pêcheur fougueux, surnommé « fils du tonnerre »,
* le témoin intime de Jésus à la Cène et au pied de la croix,
* le gardien de Marie, devenu son fils spirituel,
* le pilier de l’Église naissante à Jérusalem,
* l’exilé de Patmos qui reçoit les visions de l’Apocalypse,
