Or Two Strangers opens the summer season with a new EP from label boss Antrim. Continuing to build on his success, the Cordoba resident ended 2022 looking back on what was another banner year. Choosey in his projects across the twelve-month stretch, Antrim delivered some of the year's most memorable releases, beginning with the Abi Ferraresi vocal led piece ‘Seek the Sun’. Released courtesy of Or Two Strangers it set the course for his latest vehicle via Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music entitled ‘Stax’, before delivering one of the year's most exciting cover productions ‘You’re Not Alone’ featuring Paula OS. With 2023 getting underway with an EP for Brazil’s long standing Warung Recordings, Antrim now returns to his comfortable home of Or Two Strangers with ‘Risk | Suru’. 

Destined to be a highlight in Antrim’s discography, ‘Risk’ lands with a sizable thump, as the Cordoba resident opts for a funkier approach to great effect. Warm capsizing basslines and phasing sonics serve as the anchor for emotionally resonant hooks and muted pianos to work their magic leading into the main break. A sweeping experience all its own, the centrepiece flows through deconstructed vocals and wind-swept effects, as the primary theme breathes in all its glory, eventually giving way for waves of phasing noise and a groovy finale. 

Beneath the timeless vibes of ‘Risk’ lies the equally excellent ‘Suru’. Rounding out the release in style, Antrim maintains the groovy energy of its predecessor, with chunky well-carved basslines and panning percussive arrangements setting the course for luminous chord stabs and heartfelt overlays. Sitting at the heart of the journey is a rich textural break, one where Antrim builds anticipation through phasing vocals and percussive-rides, before reaching a tasteful peak and balmy finale. 

Operating at the peak of his creative powers, Antrim continues to impress with his latest Or Two Strangers offering. A two-track showcase which sets the course for what promises to be a strong second half of 2023.

London based producer PROFF makes his Melody Of the Soul debut with a fantastic two track Ep called 'Three Sisters'. The tittle track 'Three Sisters' showcases mesmerising vocals by folk singer Taisia Krasnopevtseva magically mixed with amazing signature groove by PROFF. B-Side 'Reverie' delivers extremely detailed groove, building up through the whole track, up to the musical resolution at the very end.

Sebastian Busto - In Search Of Sunrise (Original Mix) [Moonlight] (Preview)

A long-standing production duo, Dan Stark and Sertac Sahin have been producing music under their Stark & Sahin moniker for almost a decade. Talented artists in their own rights, the duo have been responsible for a string of releases for the likes of Go Deeva, Where The Heart Is, Low Pressings and Witty Tunes. A single remix for Particles saw the duo rework Oliver Lieb's "Caldera" in 2016 as they now return with their debut original EP for the label in "1984". The aptly named title track has a sense of foreboding as a gently pulsing bassline pattern, heavy beat and crisp snare form the basis for an electronic drum kit rhythm, de rigeur for the era. A retro synth sound and dark melody shine outwards from the rhythmic foundation as it then drops into a broken beat variation at the breakdown. Picking up the pace once more in the third movement, familiar melodies are heard as the classic synthwave vibe extends further.

Partner track, "Fearless" continues the strong retro vibe as a strong beat and ticking 16th hi-hat pattern form the foundation for a grooved bassline sequence to shine. Before long a swathe of classic sounds emanate from the rhythmic collage, revealed fully at the beatless breakdown as a monophonic lead and cadenced pluck add vibrant dancefloor character to proceedings in the second half.

An artist at the forefront of Progressive House for over 15 years, Juan Deminicis is a name synonymous with the genre. Over 400 production credits are testament to that production success with a half-century of those on Proton labels – the likes of the "Life on the Moon", "Synchronicity" and "Cycles" original EPs on Proton Music and a host of remix editions shining an alternative light on Particles. Remixes of Mariner + Domingo and Blanka Barbara in early 2021 showcased the Argentinean's production talent further while a third now sees Juan Deminicis create a thoroughly modern progressive gem out of "Fearless". Using the melodic foundations of the original as a jumping-off point, Juan's skill is to cast those characters in a new light that retains the kernel of their retro sound while transforming them into a seething dancefloor jewel. A growling bassline backdrop adds dark intensity while original melodies combine with new and vibrant phrases in a trademark production style that illustrates perfectly why the Buenos Aires resident's sound is still such a sought-after commodity. A driving beat and syncopated hi-hat pattern add to the dancefloor groove in a work of rare skill and poise.

A dystopian vision of the future is the antithesis of Stark & Sahin's bright and vibrant "1984", aided superbly by a remix from Juan Deminicis.

Fearless (Juan Deminicis Remix)

As we edge closer to the monumental 100th release, we proudly unveil ODST092, featuring the unmistakable sound of Will DeKeizer. Known for his intricate, melodic productions, Will returns to us after the success of his “Sapphire” EP earlier in 2023. His latest offering, “Moon Spirit / 2000 B.C.”, marks his continued evolution within the progressive house scene and is the third-last release of the year.

Will’s previous releases with onedotsixtwo, including “Sapphire”, have earned support from progressive house giants such as Hernán Cattáneo, Nick Warren, and Guy J, among others. “Moon Spirit” showcases Will’s infectious, intelligent low-end grit, well-crafted melodies, and hypnotic rhythms, creating an emotive journey that is sure to resonate with both fans and DJs alike.

First up on remix duties is the ever-impressive NOIYSE PROJECT, a prolific producer whose releases on Sudbeat and The Soundgarden have made waves across the underground scene. His take on “Moon Spirit” delivers a peak-time interpretation, driven by cleverly crafted percussion while retaining the essence of Will’s original.

On the flip side, “2000 B.C.” is a more driving, tech-laden affair, perfect for late-night sets. Dutch legend Roger Martinez steps in with a remix that pushes the track into even more ethereal, otherworldly territories. We’re thrilled to welcome Roger back to the label, known for his collaborations with Secret Cinema and regular support from Guy J and John Digweed. Martinez’s remix brings his signature deep, transcendental touch with that magical ‘je ne sais quoi’ only he can deliver.

This EP is a pivotal release as we march towards our 100th onedotsixtwo milestone, representing the very best of progressive house. ODST092 will be available soon, rounding out another exceptional year for the label.
