Although only conceived as ‘Melody’s Enemy’ in 2015, this UK based duo are not so new to the scene as you may think...with numerous Drum n’ Bass releases under the names Crystal Clear and Codebreaker across many of the scene’s most respected labels.

They channelled their D&B ethos some new forwarding thinking productions, and their ‘Dead 2nite’ track was picked up by Skream in 2017. They make their return in July with ‘Sleep Is The Enemy’. 

“It was great to see the videos of Oli (Skream) dropping Dead 2Nite across the globe and the reaction it was getting, so we decided pretty quickly that we wanted to put together a second EP for him” adds Andy.
 
Vocals reign throughout every track on this release, all incorporated with modulating acid lines, raw and deep beats, to linear darker synth work.

“For this release we experimented with merging two opposing flavours: two tracks of what some would call 'proper' techno, cleaner but still rocking all our signature motifs - and then two tracks leaning towards a more left field sound, heavy on the lo-fi crunk and vocals.”

Ahead of his debut album this autumn, Nitin returns on No.19 Music with a fantastic first single featuring two original new productions, backed with stellar remixes from Avision and Fosky. 

American producer Avision steps up to remix "Culver Crescent" after big tunes on the likes of Cassy's Kwench, Ben Sims' Machine label and Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave. His version is an all-out techno assault with rampant drums and raw percussive energy demanding you dance.

With AndThen’s first-ever release under this new alias hitting the Beatport Top 20, this new EP of his is set continue that pace

AndThen has used this ‘Strange Time’ we are all in productively by relaunching his music career and starting AndThen only 6 months ago. Already he has tickled the top 20 Beatport releases and he continues with his production prowess here.

Luke (his real name!) has been around in many forms since the mid 90s but has now found his home producing house and tech house with driving groove percussive elements, under his newly coined moniker ’AndThen’. This release on Brazilian label @priceincorrect is exactly that!

Track 1, "Strange Times" is a deep groover that has some amazing percussive elements that adds to the energy, whilst the twisted vocal talks about the Strange Times we are in. For those that remember them, this track defiantly has the feel of a Peace Division track of old.

Track 2 on the EP "Tell Me" is a slightly different affair. Yes, it has the percussive grove that runs through AndThen’s productions and sets but has a nice vocal stab running through it which is complemented by a 303 sounding synth. Which is a nod to his musical past.

Melody’s Enemy is the moniker of British electronic music producer and DJ Andy Haeffele. 

Beginning as a duo with Morgan Jones the pair were a somewhat unorthodox pairing in modern Techno having honed their craft within the drum and bass scene, releasing and performing for many of its best labels such as Playaz, Ram and Metalheadz.

A reconvergence in 2015 saw them form Melody’s Enemy - a project designed to channel their shared ethos of ruggedness and “golden-era” d&b aesthetic into modern, cutting-edge techno. 

They were quickly spotted by Dense & Pika, and began releasing on their ground-breaking Kneaded Pains imprint. Surging forward ever since the pair have delivered a series of critically-acclaimed ep’s on Kneaded Pains, Phobiq and Of Unsound Mind.

Already respected for their production, Melody’s Enemy have since collaborated with Dense & Pika and Drumcode’s Vinicius Honorio on killer releases “From Nothing” and “Thrillseekers” respectively as well as crafting “Reach” alongside Balthazar & Jackrock - released on Terminal M and a mainstay in sets from Monika Kruse.  

They also teamed up with Croydon’s-favourite-son Skream to craft a 2 track EP that was quickly snapped up by Alan Fitzpatrick for release on We Are The Brave.

The Melody's Enemy sound was soon spotted by the respected Octopus Records head SIAN. A series of releases followed as well as a DJ residency on SIAN's popular Twitch channel.

2020 saw Morgan leave the act to focus on other business interests and Melody's Enemy as a solo act was born.

An In-demand producer and remixer, Melody's Enemy has gained extensive and continued support from names such as: Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Arjun Vagale, Chris Liebing, Dubfire, Tiga, Ramiro Lopez, Enrico Sangiuliano, Huxley and more.

Not just a producer Melody's Enemy is an experienced & accomplished performer with a DJ set incorporating live loops, percussion and unique sound pallets to compliment the cutting-edge music selection.
