Chapter XIV – “Hush Little One (Lullaby of the Lost)”

The war is over.

Not won… but ended.


There are no Creators left to fear.

No Echo hiding in the static.

No Veil swallowing the sky.


There is only life, fragile, stubborn, beautiful, rising again from the ashes of thirteen universes.


Children who never knew darkness run beneath real starlight, laughing as if the cosmos never tried to erase them. They climb the hills of newly claimed worlds and point upward, counting the suns as if each one is a gift personally addressed to them.


Their parents watch with quiet awe.

For so long, they carried only stress and survival.

Now they carry joy… and the stories of those who didn’t live to see it.


The lullaby they sing is an oath:

to protect this peace,

to honor sacrifice,

to remember the price of tomorrow.


In homes built from recycled starship hulls and glowing crystal harvested from newborn worlds, caretakers tuck blankets around the first children born after the war. Tiny heartbeats that prove creation refuses to quit.

And how love, the most underestimated force ever created, lit the heavens again.


They will tell them about the Veil

and why it had to fall.


They will show them the Archive’s light

and teach them each name stored there.


They will teach them that peace was not a gift, it was earned.


And then, after the stories have been told,

after tears dry and smiles return,

they will whisper the final truth in the softest tone:


“We are still here.

Because they were.”


The last galaxy drifts peacefully through the night.

No longer lost in time.

No longer afraid of being found.


Love built this future.

Hope protects it.

Memory keeps it alive.


So sleep now, little one.

Dream of a universe made new.

Tomorrow is waiting,

and this time…
