Oliver Ackermann of A Place to Bury Strangers twists Wah Together’s “Sayonara” into a brutalist metaphysical pretzel of melody and noise with a new remix out Friday, December 31.
 
“Sayonara (APTBS Remix)” casts Wah Together in a foundation of concrete and wrought iron with unrelenting industrial rhythms and brain-busting time-lapse fuzz guitar. And although Ackermann pushes Wah Together to the brink of collapse in a cacophony of post-punk power electronics, Jaiko Suzuki’s voice emerges unscathed, its sweetly skewed melody intact.

The track is lifted from their debut self-titled 7”, which will be out November 10th on Anti Fade, just in time for a national tour of Australia as part of Gizzfest. Parsnip are four girls from Melbourne whom have only been around for a year, but have certainly kept themselves busy during that time, playing plenty of great shows in Melbourne, as well as the rest of Australia on many stellar lineups.
