06 Destructive Crescendo

In Greek mythology, Melpomene is one of the two theatre Muses. Initially it was the Muse of singing and musical harmony, but happened to be the Muse of Tragedy as is currently recognized.

Although newly formed, MELPHOMENE has musicians with extensive experience in this art. It’s a symphonic – metal ban founded in 2013 by Mario Del Rio and Esthíbaliz, guitarist and vocalist, respectively, and both composers, shortly joined Omar Silva on bass and Ignacio Fontán Blanch on drums.

Ignacio Fontán Blanch reached Mexico in 2012 from his native Argentina, is the former drummer of the Argentinian - progressive rock band VANGUARDIA, here in Mexico working with the pop - rock band POST FOLKS and is currently drums teacher in a recognized music academy in Mexico.

Omar Silva has previously collaborated with the folk band RIP Rapunzel where he serves as guitarist.

Esthíbaliz is a renowned soprano who has developed in many projects of various genres like CANTUS HOMINUM choir, CANTO EN MOVIMIENTO musical theater company who has performed in various parts of Mexico and the city of Florence - Italy and folk and metal bands such as RIP Rapunzel and Erszebeth.

Mario Del Rio has a long history dating back to 1999 when he joins the group of gothic-rock VALERIA who are invited to play in 2006 in the WAVE GOTHIK festival in Germany and is also the founder and active member of metal and folk bands OBLIVION REQUIEM and R.I.P. Rapunzel. 
He currently teaches guitar and various subjects at a recognized music academy in Mexico.

United for his eternal concern of creating music, start this project launching its first song HOWL, virtually through internet. This track will be part of his first EP titled DESTRUCTIVE CRESCENDO.

A myth says that Melpomene had all the riches that a woman could have: beauty, money, men. Just, having it all she could not be happy... that’s what leads to the true drama of life: having everything is not enough to be happy.
