DEEWEE are proud to present an audiovisual experience in which Charlotte, explores some of her own fears and destructive thoughts, both as a person and as an artist, with the aim to break thought-patterns.

The project was recorded and filmed at the DEEWEE studios with go-to collaborator Bolis Pupul, the Dewaele brothers, label art directors Ill-Studio and director Jorre Janssens. The Yin Yang Self-Meditation gives the listener a brutally honest view in the artist’s mind, exposing personal experiences, struggles and worries. Racism, self-discipline, relationships and other subjects are shared by Charlotte over a meditative soundscape defined by a continuous heartbeat, however tackled by a self-written mantra moments later as a cool down. The 17-minute tape builds to a climax when Charlotte takes you into a moment post-show with all of her thoughts bouncing off the walls, eventually reaching a panic attack. A stream of consciousness with all her fears and destructive thoughts.

“This tape is an invitation to myself and eventually others to look inwards. It is a ritual for letting go. I was tired of being stuck in a narrow mental reality and I wanted to look beyond. The suffering is not caused by the problem itself. We worry about not having enough. We are anxious about rejection. We fear being misunderstood. We even fear things that lie in the future we do not control. In this meditation I invite you to follow my voice into my own mental state, through paralyzing thought-patterns and blind fears I want to say goodbye to. Openness can lead to understanding, unity and compassion.”

Spring is coming and, while going through my garage, I stumbled upon a pair of “Dur Chaton” (in english : Hard Kitty). Composed by Sophie Laronde and Moldav, this first EP opens the doors of a mysterious universe between small pop rhapsodies and sounds of a bold radicality.

Inspired by the forest, your cat, your life with those gloomy mornings, Dur Chaton takes you on a poetic journey through the "Douce Vie Dure". Thanks to a sincere and frontal songwriting, the duo will make your life a little less bitter.

"Identification" was created during the pandemic lockdown when the world was gripped by a virus, and people found themselves in isolation. During this period, many musicians found inspiration in the new conditions of life. When creating the track "Wings," the artist used Ukrainian lyrics and a romantic arpeggiator to craft an atmosphere that perfectly matched evenings spent by candlelight due to power outages caused by electrical terror. For the Ukrainian vocals in the track, the author enlisted the help of their own sister, who had to leave Ukraine due to the war. The synchronization of her vocals with the author's voice created a harmonious and emotionally powerful combination, giving the song a unique depth and sincerity. These tracks became a sort of sonic reflection of how people sought peace and inspiration in challenging times. "Identification" also received an outstanding remix from the owner of the Calypso label, a renowned artist based in Mexico - Thomass Jackson. This remix added a new layer to the track and gave it its own character, complementing the original work and providing it with a fresh sound.
