MELu is the raw sound of two Aussie-Finn-Sámi brothers, Lewi Hirvelä and Phil Hirvelä, joined by longtime friends Nicholas Johnson and Dianne Rodriguez, making noise that cuts through. Blending atmospheric tension with groove-driven rhythms, MELu crafts a collision of sonic textures, equal parts industrial, soul, and trip-hop.

Their sound echoes the likes of Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, and The Roots, with a nod to Jamiroquai, Skunkhour, and ‘90s alt-funk layers.

Born from Nordic roots and raised under the southern sun, MELu is Brisbane’s answer to beautiful noise, moody, rhythmic, and unapologetically real.
