babbels in al baque, the literal proof of swarm intelligent bleak nibbling for algae in a cosy baltic see bay. its blue it’s yellow it’s a magic little cosmos of sunscreen oily slick on top a merely salty see. a wooden boardwalk, a big table aside a tedious birthday growd, small sausages on a prancing blanket and the promise of a long summer vacation. one cant help but wonder about the soundtrack of these doubtfull days in bustling corona heavy july of 2021. we offer this bass heavy, drum saturated vigilant creative fantasy, but lets speculate, and wonder! no skeptic suspicions though! only babbels in al baque.

“Under Downin” and above the covers a line of young-folk, fiercely drunk, excited and uncertain about the upcoming events of their long and hazy night appears to the trained eye of a 3rd person spectator. Inside, only two protagonists enjoy a preliminary calm, playing each other their favorite tunes, relaxing before the events of the night unfold. An organ-bass-heavy slow wave of air fills the empty halls, slithering hihats, a damped clap and a grossly distorted vocoder-esque voice is calling out your name. Shuffle your shoes and fasten your trousers … or not. Its fast its loose its heavy its smooth, because its still “Klapp Downin”! Fantasound is the fifth full length album from Slovenian Space Disco producer Ichisan. This debut LP on international label Discolypso follows recent singles Harmona and Margit Mono. Ichisan’s sound is Space Disco Pop Bliss - swooshing synths collide with pulsing rhythms and twinkling melodies, creating a kaleidoscopic universe of pure joy.

The artist explains the process:

"The album was recorded during the 2020 lockdown period. In those long uncertain days I watched all kinds of movies and rediscovered the ‘1940 Fantasiaʼ with my three year old son.
I started researching the story behind the production of the animated musical film and especially the sound production of Fantasia. Fantasound was a stereophonic sound reproduction system developed by engineers of Walt Disney and RCA. That is how I found the album title. After the album was recorded I knew that the artwork must be related to Fantasia. I always had ‘The Sorcererʼs Apprenticeʼ in my mind as an inspiration for the album artwork. Mickey Mouseʼs dreams in the dark-blue space and Fantasia poster logo were guidelines. The illustrator Meta Wraber delivered the fantastic artwork in her signature watercolour technique."

'Fantasound’ is a symphony of disco and italo, space synth waves and a happy-go-lucky driving rhythms. A sound that doesn't exist in the real world, the Fantasound is very much alive and in our mind during our happiest moments.

After teasing with several EPs, Ichisan blesses the world via Discolypso with the full Fantasound, an immersive ecstatic experience filled with twists and turns that will keep you on your Tip Top toes.

	Kuniyuki Takahashi is a sound designer and producer who is based and works in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. In 1994, he started his solo musical career. In 1997, as FRR HIVE, he released a mini album which was released on CD and 12INCH from the BASSMENTAL label. And in 1998, he had been participated in the RAINBOW 2000 outdoor festival in Japan, as a member of HOSONO HARUOMI(YMO) group.

In 2000, as Kuni, he released a track which was included on Dego of 4 Hero's, 2000 BLACK label called "THE GOOD GOOD" compilation. In 2001, as KOSS, he has released his full-length album out of soundofspeed and as Kuni, he released a12inch EP from Lifeline Records.

Kuni also remixed ANANDA PROJECT's track, "Cascades of Colour", which was included in the Ananda Project Remix Album titled, Re-Release out of King Street Sounds. In 2002, as Kuniyuki, he just released a 12inch EP called "Precious Hall", out of Natural Resource, a division of Joe Claussell's Spiritual Life Music label. As KOSS, he released his 1st LIVE album CD through soundofspeed.

He is no doubt one of Japan's best kept secrets. International DJ's such as Joe Claussell, Dego, DJ Cosmo, Jimpster to name but a few, have been falling over themselves when they heard his produced tracks. Now, some of them have been releasing his works through their own labels. He has also been working closely with the soundofspeed crew over the past few years and releasing hisworks on their own label and performing live with them in their famed parties which are held regularly in Tokyo and sometimes in parties such as the Big Chill and in excursions to Austria and Europe. Check out the ever-consistent and surprisingly prolific producer out of Sapporo, Kuniyuki Takahashi!

@Sonar-Kollektiv needs no introduction, founded in 1997 by “Jazzanova” as a platform for own releases it soon attracted numerous new discoveries and like-minded musicians to illustrate the musical taste of the collective, its flavourful development, and recollection of past sounds. They are celebrating their 21st birthday with a massive compilation from their back catalog consisting of two volumes with a total of sixty tracks covering releases from the last two decades that showcase their wonderfully broad approach to A&R.

With this colossal compilation, it was a challenge to choose our favorite track and in the end, our personal selection deviated towards “Mooryc’s (@mooryc) – One day” and “Jules et Spatz”(@julesspatz) or otherwise well known as “Jimi Jules & Kalabreses” has bought this song to the dancefloor with their remix.

Melusine is newly emerged music label project of notorious stuben hockerz Till and David of „dürerstuben“. Beeing born and raised in early reunied north- and south berlin their first memories of potsdamer platz, kudamm and its retrofuture aera looks and promises made them eager to discover new grounds without losing touch with their roots. In accordance to this nobel but desperate plan they keep pushing FORBACKWARD, striving to take a sip of bustling modern berlin somewhere between HIPHOP-Kudamm (minicity), NDW-Kreuzberg, and DISCO-Schöneberg, always on the lookout, always on the run from zeitgeist and frantic nothingness.  

Melusine is set to combine these irreconcilable aspects and aims to capture berlins sounds, ideas and indigenous people. Once more the place is set, a playground for modern and long gone berlin romantics, a place to call home.
