“A lot of these songs are improvised and I have forgotten the tunings for the guitar.  But I keep returning to these melodies and harmonies - they are maybe an echo of something I’ve heard before.”

Recorded over the course of 6 years in between other performances, tours, club nights, a pandemic and work commitments, these songs share in common the expression of a ‘complete statement’.  

Their final release here now for the first time, are inspired by albums like Prince’s post-humous, Piano and A Microphone 1983, Beck’s One Foot in the Grave or one of Kurt Cobain’s last known recordings outside a Nirvana release, Do Re Mi.

“A lot of these songs are inspired from demo tapes that me, Kurt Cobain and Prince made (not together obviously). Mostly just me and a piano or a guitar and my iPhone microphone. These are my take on the 90's pop and grunge I grew up listening to after moving to what is now called the United States of America.”

Vina Konda returns to the label for a second outing, delivering a brutal three-track descent where the raw power of metal crashes into the deep pull of dub. An Absurd Baroque journey into horror, pulling you under waves of distortion until there’s nothing left but the crushing dark.

Mossambi starts 2025 with a bang, delivering four new tracks on Time To Quit Music. On his third EP on the label, Mossambi delivers his most melodic work yet, infusing complex dancefloor compositions with abstract, autotuned vocals and lively hyperpop-inspired synth lines.

TiSAM introduces the record with stuttering vocals and shimmering pads before propelling into a sub-driven groove adorned with playful percussion and angelic chords. Syncopated bass hits and percussion build intensity throughout before the track ends in blissful ambience.

Time To Quit Music sees abstract sound design manipulated over sub-driven percussion. Sounds whirr and transform across the frequency spectrum, whilst an addictive vocal hook lifts the track up to ethereal heights.

LLPS opens with whiplash-inducing percussive patterns accentuated by crashing cymbals. An earworm synth line morphs its way through the arrangement, with a compelling vocal sample rising and falling as the track progresses.

HDT closes the record with a stirring chord progression, interspersed by alien vocals and manipulated camera clicks. Whilst rooted in the dancefloor, the track twists and transforms in unexpected directions, locking into a firm, stepping groove before rushing forward with precision-chopped breaks.

Morgan (he/him, USA/DE) is a practice-based music researcher whose output sits in the experimental field between academia and club music.

His work spans live electronic music, curation, lecture-workshops, panel discussions and the development of sample packs, tuning systems and other musical strategies to engage with materiality, diaspora, and the thoughtful resynthesis of new/traditional music.

Morgan's music productions draw from an archipelagic range of influences and intrinsic reverence for experimental computer dance music that can be described as playful, abrasive, promiscuous, feral and eclectic.

Last year, he released his debut album on Chinabot, which The Wire called "…a gently vaporous hulk of melancholia."

Morgan has performed at Cafe Oto, presented at CTM Festival, co-curated Soydivision's long-running Soy&Synth series, organized an online album co-release festival with folk-doom metal band Senyawa and 44 labels (mentioned in NYT, CDM), and was interviewed by Ableton about Latent Sonorities, a project that expands public access to sonic heritage for transcultural experimentation and research.
