Memody is a community interest company offering a music programme for children and young people aged between 7 and 25 years.  Memody works with all children and young people and is especially useful for cohorts who have additional needs or are considered vulnerable or at-risk due to economic, social, personal or developmental circumstances.  By teaming up with a trained professional songwriter on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, Memody supports children and young people to compose and record songs and practice their performance before an audience.  The key skills that participants develop lead to an increase in creativity, confidence and effective communication, self-efficacy, wellbeing and resilience.  It is also hoped that children and young people will develop upon their self-efficacy, wellbeing and resilience.  All Memody participants will be able to add their engagement as a matter of esteem onto their curriculum-vitaes.  Memody promotes social inclusion, independence and community participation. Self-esteem will be boosted by the experience itself, as well as the recorded musical outcome, the accompanying certificate and its inclusion in his/her CV.
