VENDi hails from Nice, but after a successful first few years building his career with releases on labels like Bodyparts and Sleep Is Commercial, in which he was recognized as the outstanding artist and producer he is, he took refuge in Berlin to further activate himself in its fertile underground. Expect some exciting news from him as his first vinyl label is in works that will be called Blacksketch recordings. Ripened and also versed in Tattoo art, he is back this year, releasing his first long player through Bandcamp, whilst also showing his mighty yet subliminal prowess as a DJ.
Dropping the bass back in at the right moments, this musical experience is of pleasurable qualities seldomly displayed with such expertise; Enjoy!

Fourth Edition of the Disruptcast is brought to you by the ever evolving Herck. For over two years straight he has been releasing record after record and each one better than the last. Based out of Arad Romania this producer/Dj has a very distinct sound unique to him. With glitchy yet prominent percussions, eccentric drum hits and in some occasions captivating vocals, his music is being played by the top talent across the world. Here is an exclusive mix by the man himself; a recording from a party during the summer.

DisruptCast 004 - Herck

Release twenty-two on San Francisco’s Manjumasi sees Vincent Casanova return to the label for a second original EP. The Secret Tourism EP showcases what we know and love best about Vincent - absolutely irresistible grooves and luscious basslines, perfectly seasoned to taste with sonic details.

The first cut, Zyasta, is anchored by an incredibly funky bass riff that works its way into a very satisfying call-and-response with a playful bell lead. It’s an addictive hook that grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go. Next up is Secret Tourism, which pushes into a more lush territory with soft, ethereal pads and chopped up vocal snippets that evoke a feeling of exploration, as the track’s title implies. The final original on the package is Watermelon Smash, with its big round bassline setting the mood for loads of juicy melodic elements to weave through the tune.

The first remix comes from Dance Spirit, who have turned in an absolutely mesmerizing IDM re-interpretation of Zyasta. Abstract off-kilter rhythms and swirling synths melt together into a tapestry of sound. Next is a deep tech remix of Watermelon Smash from Birds ov Paradise, who morphs the track’s melodies into a minor key, adding deep and drummy layers of complex percussion.

Closing off the year with a groovy 2 hour set, we welcome California native and now New York based DJ/Producer ISA. Entering the world of music at the age of 5, ISA has nurtured a liking for distinct moments that evoke rare sounds. Driven by spontaneous creativity and his surroundings, ISA’s sets bring a peculiar energy, opening up for artist such as Beduoin, Luca Baccetti and live sets along artists like Mayaan Nidam and Serge Devant. With a current focus on production, we can expect to hear releases in the near future. Signing off for 2020 with ISA!
