Information Ghetto's 'Head Key' is a hedonistic journey into the depths of minimal tech courtesy of the Chippy Chasers label.

The track kicks off with bouncing deep bass notes that immediately grab your attention, setting the stage for the hypnotic percussion accents and rhythmic pots and pans sounds that drive the groove forward. As the track progresses, melodic keys meld into the mix, adding an extra layer of depth and complexity. Reminiscent of the vibes found on early Perlon records, this gem is a tribal workout of epic proportions that invites listeners to lose themselves in the music. The quirky instrumentation adds an element of intrigue, keeping the track fresh and engaging from start to finish. Nicolás Cespedes, better known as Nicc, was born 30 years ago in Bogotá. His musical roots were established at an early age; during school, he participated in cultural and musical events, performing traditional cumbias with their rhythmic base of congas and drums. Growing up, he was influenced by the music his mother loved, including salsa, Cuban son, boleros, and rancheras.

Nicc’s journey into electronic music began midway through his career as an Architectural Designer in 2015. From that moment, his artistic focus shifted towards the collection and production of music, sparking an insatiable quest to find a sound uniquely his own.

His sound is rooted in minimalist foundations, approached in a more eclectic manner than a single style of minimal sound. His DJ sets span Techno, House, Micro, Break, and Electro sounds, all with balanced, groove-driven variations. At the core, he stays true to the essence of minimalism, which is what he enjoys the most. Hit play and enjoy the journey! 🔥🚀

From a young age, he was deeply immersed in the house music subculture, a passion that was further ignited by his experiences at Ibiza and iconic festivals like Sunwaves and Houghton. These experiences have honed his ability to explore and create diverse musical landscapes.

Dablo has made significant strides in the music scene, bringing renowned artists such as Anthea, Voigtmann, Silverlining, Reiss, Subb-an, Lamache, and Per Hammar to Edinburgh through his brand RMN.BTS. With 2023 promising to be a landmark year for his collective, expanding their events across the UK and beyond, Dablo continues to push the boundaries of his musical journey.

I had the honor of playing another fun summer party in Brooklyn this year on my good friends Andre and Brittany's rooftop terrace, where we celebrated the 4th of July under the fireworks. 

Here's a recording of a set I that I played from 2am till 530am or so, when the party was at its silliest. 

Weird at times, funky at others, often trippy, sporadically silly, occasionally deep, and sometimes just straight f%&@'d up beyond all recognition.

Release Info:
Ben Rau serves up the third release on his own label Inkal in October featuring two new original tracks by the rising star.
Berlin born Ben Rau is building on the huge success of the first two Inkal releases with two original tracks of his glitched out groove laden signature house sound. Rau has been steadily building his own brand throughout 2017 on his label Inkal, with each release on multiple represses the label is fast becoming synonymous with the type of house music that works equally for the underground vinyl heads and on the big festival stages.
The A-side Ad Astra is a rolling peak time number that marries a ravey lead stab with his trademark swinging hats and glitched out filter modulations over a thumping groove. The drop recalls 90’s drum and bass influences and soothing pads take the track into deeper territory. The drums are loose and jostle for attention as the ducking and diving lead synth bring real movement up top. One for the more tasteful sets out there.
Up next is Do Your Thing built around a rolling percussive tech-house groove and rumbling sub bass line, Ben brings in 303 licks and a female vox that urges you to “do your thing “ throughout the track. This roller makes a fine contrast to the swinging grooves of the A-side, dense atmosphere and deep chords compliment the other elements to form an infectious head nodding journey throughout the tracks 8 minute duration.
Once again Rau shows what an essential house producer he has become.
