Alex Castaneda - Shiver In The Dark

This is a chill out bass track I created with my phone and a DSI Mopho Keys Synth.

All drums (including modulations and FX) are from the G-Stomper Rhythm Android App on my phone. All synths were created with a DSI Mopho Monophonic synth.

All synth parts were played live in one pass each and recorded in Ableton. I also used the UAD EMT-250 Plate reverb and UAD Precision Delay Mod on the incoming synth parts.

Opening the EP is Belgian producer Compuphonic, who has made a name for himself over the past decade with popular releases on Exploited, Get Physical and Turbo. ‘Island Flutter’ sees him at his melodic best, weaving arpeggiated melodies around a warm textured groove.

French duo and Traum Schallplatten affiliates Antoine Rigail and Fabien Garcia a.k.a We Need Cracks debut with ‘Blue Danube’, a favourite from last years iTunes #1 compilation ‘Anjunadeep 08’ where it was reworked by mixers James Grant & Jody Wisternoff themselves.

Russian talent Modd delivers a stripped back dancefloor moment in ‘Inki’, an intricate blend of delicate soundscapes and subtle melodies.

Closing the EP are UK duo Fluida, fresh from a string of acclaimed releases on Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried imprint. ‘Not Alone’ showcases their impressive multi-instrumentation alongside deft vocals and trademark hangdrum sounds.

Mezo – Human Contact is a deeply emotional dream pop masterpiece. It is invigorating and endlessly-playable, the rare type of track you listen and question your life. The vocal is simply sublime, heartfelt and grandiose, the harmonies create a poignant and ethereal atmosphere, all this to create a top-shelf dreamy chill future RnB opus. You can’t really put the track in one category though,  Mezo successfully and effortlessly blurred the boundaries between Future RnB, Chillout, Electronica, Trip Hop and Dream Pop. He is a brilliant and extremely talented producer that will be, without a doubt, in high demand for collaborations in the future.
