This is an interesting turn musically for Identity Theft, it is probably the first time I have heard of atmospheric electro. Obviously there are other artists that could be counted into that genre, but it is the first time I have heard of it. Solid oldschool rhythmic electro meets the more atmospheric elements of genres like darkwave and coldwave according to Repartiseraren. Especially towards the middle and end of the track the atmospheric elements kick off for real.

There are of course hints of other genres within the music as well. A really interesting release, we're proud to exclusively premiere "Magic Mirror" a track from the forthcoming "Magic Mirror EP" out on Katabatik on the 31st of October. We thank Katabatik for this opportunity and of course Identity Theft, we're looking forward to future collaborations.

"Identity Theft returns to Katabatik with “Magic Mirror” EP, an addendum to last years “Omnia Vanitas” album , released on vinyl via Oraculo Records.The 4 songs here, originally composed for a few live shows in 2022/23, could be loosely categorized as atmospheric electro.Title track “Magic Mirror” juxtaposes Mandela effect and Q-Anon theory (via Snow White) to create a statement that transcends the worldly concerns of each. “Only Death” reasserts the Hellhammer-derived black metal mantra within an electrofunk paradigm, détourning it into a morbid banger, with additional commentary from William S. Burroughs. “Climb Off It” leads the listener through twists and turns- before winding up in The Twilight Zone “After Hours” mannequin lounge. Closing track “Fire” reinterprets Sister Irene O’Connor’s classic song, warming cold hearts with dubbed out melancholy"

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Wound Care. "Plastic Art (Ben Chisholm Remix)" The track comes off the new EP, Existing Without You Hurts Me, out on Colombia's Body Musik. For it's 43rd release, the label presents the fiery California duo consisting Felicia Marie & Memory Clap Acid who give us their take on stomping body music with wave nuances, jackin' beats and an elegant atmosphere of sexy transgression.

In Felicia's words: This project was born from the quiets of the undertide, and a deep, unyielding urge to be heard.  

The remix is Ben Chisholm’s cinematically haunting interpretation of the bands heart breaking EBM tinged song Plastic Art.

PREMIERE: Wound Care - Plastic Art (Ben Chisholm Remix)[Body Musik]

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track Myles Sergé. "Shoplifter (Black Mirror Park Deep Mix)" comes off the new release of the same name forthcoming on the artist's signature imprint. Hailing from Michigan, USA, vinyl and digital techno label (MS) is the creation of Myles Sergé, and it usually focuses on his own original works, but has also featured quality music from artists such as Gonzalo MD, Philippe Petit and Rennie Foster.

Now the label boss has put together a new remix package for the recently released track "Shoplifter," and his back catalogue includes appearances on labels like Zenker Brothers' Ilian Tape, Dan Curtin's Metamorphic, Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains, and Esther Duijn's Another Earth, to name only a few. The original "Shoplifter" is a stripped-back and jackin' cut with a tool-like style and immersive, hypnotic style that's totally club ready. 

Rouding off the remixes, Berlin's Black Mirror Park is a member of Sonntagsinstitut Collective, and lists works on Robert Hoff's trau-ma, dotwav's KONFLKT, Planet Rhythm, and DifferentSound. His remix closes out the release with a twisted and hypnotic rework that uses suspense and dubby tones to a create a contemporary piece with depth and soul intertwined to perfection.
