Two Birds is the earliest of four compositions part of the first music research project with the name "Songs of Coming of Age" of the Mena Guerrero with her former Maastricht based band Chaytà Nico. "Songs of Coming of Age" is a quest to find a personal and intimate sound; as well as a personal artistic expression, both musically and lyrically.

Improv-Experiment

This is a song I have been working on.  I am exploring distancing myself from traditional and classic forms of songwriting, and connecting more profoundly with oral tradition and the voice as our the original instrument.

In this piece, I approach singing  from a non-traditional harmonic world. Perfect pitch, intonation and rhythm are not important but rather expression and emotion are at the center of this sort of anthem or circular song.
