Was inspired to make this edit after reading comments on Tame Impala's 'Currents Collectors Edition' video on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMt7oyHP6iw) where some people said they preferred the teaser version over the final cut of Powerlines. So, here's my edit where I extended the teaser and added some subtle extra layers to lush it up.

"Emerging Hong Kong-based talent Mengzy follows up her self-released debut, ‘Fetch’, with an official remix of ‘Embrace Me’ by The Naked Eye, a singer-songwriter from London who is also one fifth of female collective HER SONGS.

The remix, which has received support on Rinse FM, transforms ‘Embrace Me’ into a nuanced journey that draws from diverse influences, including trip hop, reggae and jungle.

Running at 165 BPM, the 6-minute odyssey opens with a soothing reggae-flavoured intro featuring instrumental parts written by Mengzy and recorded with session musicians, before dropping unexpectedly into a dark and heady texture of breaks and bass.

Throughout, The Naked Eye’s sublime vocals maintain their soulful quality from the original and provide the perfect ethereal juxtaposition to Mengzy’s intricate drum work.
