Side Up Works is back with their 16th EP by Son & Stepson. The Italian duo formed by Vicky Montefusco and K. Domenicano, who have previously released on prestigious labels such as Slow Motion Records or Chromatics, among others. The artists bring us three excellent Original Mixes that combine groovy basses, dark and intrepid synth lines and leds that transport you to another dimension.

The sixteenth edition of the Catalan label is also accompanied by a remix by Aaryan, one of the first Indian producers who has released on labels such as Sincopat, Disco Halal, URSL or Magician ion Duty, earning the appreciation of great artists such as Carl Craig.

We are happy to have musicians of this quality, so we invite you to enjoy their work both at home and on the dance floor.

Franco-German producer Franz Matthews strikes back with his 'As I Am' EP on his own imprint @hifi-lofi-records , a catchy Indie Dance groover with infamous self-reflecting vocals, that is set to wake up every festival stage this summer. Made of 2 sunny originals and backed up by 3 killer remixes from power producers Vhyce, Yame and Tegel Boys, the EP covers all ranges of the Indie Dance spectrum beautifully.

Sonnenallee, the second original track of the EP, is a sunny and slightly deranged funky stomper initially produced at the time of Franz's debut 'Ostkreuz' release.

Gatos Negros, aka Madrid DJs/ producers Christian C. & Iván Smoka,
second album 'Hi Score' is a texture and abstraction gambling project now on sale via Vasco Ispirian's Made in Green Records label.
'Hi Score' sees the duo sailing ethereal ambient soundscapes, shady alt rock waves, experimental grooves almost horizontally danceable, acid electro-pop & avant-garde electronica- all in an utterly smart, consistent, and effective vocal fashion.
'HI SCORE' TRACK BY TRACK
The album's fully hybrid and lethargic sonic land starts with the ghostly, almost shoegaze, borderline post-rocker 'The Ballad of Victoria Winters', followed by the troubling ambient 'Up in the Smoke'. Everything melts onto pitch black with 'First Sleep' only to resurface again with the spectral sonic 'Chasing Cassie', which gives way to the obscure narcotic shades of 'Night Shift'. A fuzzy, ethereal melody starring loops follows on 'An Alternative Route', while
'Galactic Gigolo' draws us out of the mist only to entangle us with playful counterpoint arpeggios. Kyonsi's proposal is a complete immersion in a bordering dream-pop warm space to wander through, searching for a light that only sparkles inside us. 'Say Goodbye to the Creatures' digs deep into melancholic post-rock noise and electronica, steady ascending ladder steps towards total emptiness. The gloomy 'Who am I?' foreshadows quite an unhappy, swampy, requiem-esque ending. And the final number, 'The Jukebox Dancing', let us lose ourselves in this rare nostalgia that evokes timeless and distant dances that perhaps did not ever exist.

When I am not playing in the clubs, I have the honor every Thursday night to play a 2 hour set for people all over the world online and hone my skills. I am honored to play for so many people, and meet so many music lovers in a virtual space.

Meniac big love for and dedication to music started already on a very early age and he was always fascinated by the concept of rhythm so as first act he started to play the drums.   His father had an excessive collection of vinyls and Meniac loved to put those on the family turntable to dream away by the music they produced.

As an adolescent he started to buy his own vinyls and finally in 1993 he started to mix his prescious records. 

Meniac became in the 90’s one of the leading techno dj’s in the underground scene because of his excellent often Detroit flavored taste and extra ordinary mixing  skills.   He took the mixing style known as “the djack school” to the next prefect level.   He was a regular guest on underground concepts as Strictly Underground, D-Jacking Zone, Funky Green Aliens, Technoir, Underground Adventures (NEMO) and many others.  For Technoir & Underground Adventures he became the resident dj.  Besides he has  put also fire on the floors of higher profile events and clubs as FUSE, Kozzmozz, Silo, Petrol, ….  He shared the decks with names no less than Random XS, Umek, Cristian Vogel, Vice, D-Knox, The Hacker, Mike Dred, Acid Junkies, Scan 7, …

In between his busy schedule as a techno dj he worked two days a week in a recordshop for electronic music Urban Grooves in Brussels.

As a dj he focusses his style mainly on techno and it’s subcategories.  Meniac doesn’t like to think in purist forms and in his sets you are always in for a surprise voyage from house to techno, electro to wave spiced by a classic bomb here and there.  

Meniac stays true to the values of the underground and doesn’t take part in the marketing and fashion  hypes of today.  Its doesn’t matter who he is, how he looks, what he is wearing… but all is about the music he loves and wants to share with his fans on the dancefloor!
