Lone is about those times alone, that we've had so many of recently. Throughout the slow times of the pandemic I have found some solace in walks in Epping Forest, slowly exploring deeper as the months went on. Lone is the soundtrack to these walks.

An hour's live set, starting with a reprise of the piece I put together at The Social last week and going off into improvised, dark and melodic directions.

I've been listening to a bunch of old Global Underground mix CDs recently, and I feel like the influences rubbed off. Parts of this one remind me of the kind of vibe in Sasha's Global Underground Ibiza, particularly towards the second half.

Unfortunately the video got cut off around 10 mins before the end, but the music continues (Thanks to my Zoom H4 Essential recorder handling the audio)!

Playing around with more grooves and hypnotic stuff for a lot of this, with a bit of a melodic payoff towards the end.

Improvised modular techno in my studio

I'm looking forward to playing a midnight set at the Night Cafe in London this coming Friday, so I've been practicing and captured this hour of improvisation. Please with how this one went, starts out atmospheric and progressive, and then goes back and forth a bit between more rhythm driven techno and more melody driven progressive house. And a bit of breaks right at the end. It's tempting with this live stuff to go all one level and just try to keep the energy up all the time, so I've been working on having some light and shade and making the longer performances take more of a journey.
