Mentis Abutor at Club Tante Emma Innsbruck

Mentis Abutor, DJ, wannabe producer, party organizer and creative escapist. Born in Bucharest, Romania, currently based in the Netherlands.

As a DJ, he plays across the board, including deep, quirky and spacey techno with a dash of minimal, deep house, tech house and sometimes progressive house. His sets are made of a lot of esoteric and unusual music, as playing for the duration of the night enables him create a very relaxed atmosphere, before increasing the energy levels at his own pace, taking in many musical genres along the way. 

As a producer he is in the process of developing music that draws on these influences and adds an innovative sound to everything else he listens to, working solo or in collaboration with other artists. 

Since 2009, he has been collaborating with the producer Alex Preda, spinning as a DJ duo under the name "Sonocracy" (http://www.facebook.com/Sonocracy). Their first set is played in November 2009 during the co-organized event Move Amsterdam, which turned out to be a huge success. Since then they have been playing together in clubs well known in the Netherlands such as AIR, Paard van Troje, Tivoli, Korsakoff and have been broadcasted at radio stations such as XT3 Techno radio and OneUnderground.

Late 2010, together with other artists sharing the desire to explore a new way of bringing a unique sound to the underground scene, he has developed "Origenes", a platform designed to express creativity and to promote upcoming talents while avoiding commercial interests.
