A key driving force behind the Middle-East's underground scene, Maks recently made his debut at SW30 and SWDUNES. Here is his recording live from SW30!

After spending the first 25 years of his life in London, Maks moved to the Middle-East, quickly establishing himself as a trailblazing and leading artist, and a pillar of the regional community. Considered to be the originator of minimal and microhouse music in the region, Maks paved the way by inviting, and collaborating with, some of his favourite artists from around the world, most of which had never appeared in that part of the world before.

In his early days, Maks was influenced from growing up in the garage and jungle music environment. Today, he draws inspiration from Chilean electronic dance music visionary Ricardo Villalobos, as well as other formidable artists such as  ‘Perlon’ label co-founder Thomas Franzmann aka Zip, ‘Minibar’ label head Cabanne, and ‘Fabric’ & ‘Houghton Festival’ curator and resident DJ Craig Richards.

Following several well-received self-releases, championed by the likes of Jamie Jones among several others, London-based DJ/Producer starlet ELODIE has
unveiled the first offering on her newfound ‘eloelo’ imprint, featuring carefully-crafted releases from herself, as well as original productions and remixes from some of the most highly-regarded artists in the scene. The label promises to unveil dark, gritty and unconventional releases that will cultivate its own distinctive and unique minimal style; authentic, raw, and stripped-down.
‘Slept With X’ kicks off the first release on the label and is a firm introduction to ELODIE’s gritty subterranean sound. Undulating grooves, roughened sonics and moody melodies run rife throughout the mix, accented by subtle percussive playfulness and swirling atmospheric tones. It’s eerie, it’s granular, it’s raw, and it’s the perfect example of the unique take on
production that has set ELODIE apart from the sea of talent rising out of the capital’s renowned club scene.
