With “4th Of The Punks”, Light Blue File crafts a track that feels like both an homage and an evolution - a future-facing nod to the golden era of French Touch, refracted through the gritty, underground lens of Distrikt Paris. It’s the standout moment on his Fourth Of The Punks EP: an Electro-House hybrid charged with funk, attitude, and an unmistakable pulse that bridges nostalgia and innovation.

The track launches with a strutting groove - chunky bassline, crisp percussion, and an ever-so-slight Acid sizzle that coils around the rhythm. But it’s the robotic vocal - “Music sounds much better with you” - that seals its mischievous charm, a wink to Daft Punk’s enduring influence without slipping into imitation. Instead, Light Blue File distills that inspiration into something rawer, rougher, and more human in its imperfections.

Every element feels engineered for motion: the way the acid bleeps flutter against the funk-infused low end, the shuffling swing of the drums, the slow build of euphoria that never tips into excess. “4th Of The Punks” doesn’t explode - it locks in, hypnotizing dancers through groove repetition and sleek modulation rather than obvious peaks.

It’s that time of year when we dive back into the archives — revisiting both the early sparks and the fresh cuts — and this time, we’re spotlighting a selection from Contratti that perfectly captures his range and evolution.

A1 opens with a 2022 collaboration with his brother @gruvimusic: a mysterious, groove-laden roller that still feels completely timeless.
A2, from 2024, marks a milestone — Contratti’s first track produced entirely on the Analog Rytm MkII. Direct, dancefloor-driven, stripped back and effective in the best way.

On the flip, B1 brings the heat. Created in 2022, it’s an energetic peak-timer that moved dancefloors then and still has the power to stir things up now.
And closing the journey, B2 — crafted in his garden in spring 2024 — folds in field recordings of birdsong and passing cars, transformed into subtle textures threaded through the track. A warm, organic moment to end on.
