Silat Beksi brings a slice of minimalist heaven in the launch of Caprices Festival's new vinyl label.

The Swiss outfit have been a strong influence on the tastes of electronic music over years as this year marks their 20th edition. Everyone from Ricardo Villalobos and Luciana to Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin are regular features at this annual feast in the Swiss Alps.

It was only a matter of time before they ventured into the vinyl market and continue their story on wax. The first release arrives in the form of five tracks spread across vinyl and digital from the Berlin-based Israeli Brizman. His previous work has landed on the likes of Subtil and Artreform Records along the likes of Priku and Christopher Ledger which featured on the Trommel channels last year. Swiss label FreeLife cruise in to 2023 with their first release of the year by innovative beat maker, Lost.Act. The “Cabaret” EP traverses between slick minimal moods with a touch of house class, two originals and a remix from label founder, Gianluca Felline. 

 First up is title track “Cabaret”, constructed upon tight drum grooves, and warm bass movements. Trippy elements breathe life in to the hypnotic force of the track. Gianluca’s remix addresses a glitchy territory, the hi-hats take the wheel, moving the dance floor up a gear. The vocal samples flashing in and out give a pure essence to the almost 7 minute trip. “Backwords” takes things in a more stripped back direction, teasing in curious movements as the track continues to develop throughout with the intelligent loop arrangements. Pensive sounds for the hazy hours of the morning. 

Further beautiful output from a label on the rise, becoming an essential catalogue for the tastemakers amongst us. Landing March 2023.

We're back from our extended holiday period and we're proud to present our first release of 2024, this scintillating new EP from the Australian bushtechno weapon, Tom Baker. 

The B-Side, 'Weather Patterns' finds Mr. Baker venturing into dark, driving musical territories. With its broody and menacing character, this track acts as the perfect storm to turn a dancefloor inside out. 

The title track, 'My Mistake', was born from a serendipitous moment in the studio, a happy accident whilst messing around on the tools that evolved into a sonic masterpiece that is simply extraordinary. 

The EP is accompanied by a banging psychedelic techno remix of Weather Patterns by Greenwolve and a smooth progressive take on 'My Mistake' by Human Element. 

This journey is signed out by a bonus track - a 2024 edit of Tom's remix to 'Medusa' by South Punk, infused with newfound energy and vitality. Enjoy.
