Quite Nice Actually serves up its first Various Artists EP featuring talents like Latchmere Groove, A04F, R.U.B., ADR, Timmy P and zAr zAr. It is a slick statement of their underground house style.

Latchmere Groove opens up with a six minute electronic house workout, Revolution. It's a balmy and spaced out sound with sleek synth work, then AO4F's Interplanetary Funk is another fresh cut with neon hues and silky synths over a bouncing 90s house bassline. R.U.B. - Iluminación picks up the pace with punchy drums and bass and more perfectly cosmic vibes, whispered vocals, and serene grooves that seduce as they unfold. 

ADR (UK)'s Return is a squelchy cut laced with soft acid and snappy broken beats, which jostle through the stars. Timmy P's Overkill is a nice and punchy house track with raw drums, molten melodies and sci-fi synth designs. Last of all, zAr zAr's Mrs Jones jacks up the energy with a futuristic house cut featuring catchy melodies and plenty of alien sound designs. 

This is a standout collection of innovative house sounds.

In the beginning, I must say that I have a long-term relationship with Quirk. I must say, that since their first record, I even got a signed card from Alexander Skancke, who was working at Bikini Waxx and sold my friend the record I asked to buy for me (which I didn’t know at the time). So, it’s kinda understandable, that I like the label, especially, lately, on their “hot streak”, as I would say. But I must add, that their newest one is over-the-top even for Quirk standards. The EP opens with his sublime 2019 remix of Arctor and Jay Hill, previously unreleased on vinyl. On the flip are two reissues: the first of his 1998 remix of Ravi McArthur from Reverberations; and a Detroit-inspired electro track written at the tender age of 19 back in 1995 under his early Spook in the House guise.

These were tangelo dreams and he'd been warned about them before. In the dead of night they might sneak into his radius, disturb his sleep so as to cast confusion and chaos into his wildest nightmares. The only way out was to give in, this was to be his truth for the evening. As he lay there in the darkness he dreamt of outer space. 

Nachtbraker is a hard working producer who doesn't do things by half measures. He produces his own music, releases his own music and has an impressive work rate which has seen him put out a lot of records over the past few years. Here is a new EP on his own label, a delightful affair.
