My mother left this voicemail one week after I returned home from my dad's funeral 10 years ago.  Born and raised in Richmond, VA, she has what is known as a classic Richmond drawl, that is as close to music as any English dialect I've ever heard.  It gave birth to a new idea of taking her messages and setting them to music loosely called "My Mama Sings When She Talks."  Stay tuned for a whole project of her recorded stories and voicemails set to music.
