Two of the most forward-thinking names in electronic music and key figures in the Evolution Chamber camp, Joe Ford and Task Horizon unite for a project that feels as ambitious as it is personal. ‘In Orbit’ — a four-part collaboration rooted in a chance conversation and fuelled by a mutual drive to explore new musical territory — invites listeners into a world of precision-engineered sound design, cinematic storytelling, and creative freedom.

The series begins with “Where Is The Moon?”, a track that sets the conceptual and emotional tone for what’s to follow. Featuring an exceptional vocal performance from The Velvet Effect, this first chapter is anything but typical. Opening with a bed of atmospheric textures, the track establishes a mood that feels expansive yet intimate — before The Velvet Effect’s vocals gradually emerge, adding depth and narrative weight that elevates the entire composition.

As the track unfolds, tight, stop-start melodic phrasing acts as the engine room, creating a feeling of suspension and anticipation. These intricate structures — paired with The Velvet Effect’s haunting delivery — guide the track into a beautifully restrained yet powerful drop. It’s a moment that feels less like a peak and more like a shift in dimension, marking the beginning of a larger journey through sound.

‘Where Is The Moon?’ is the gateway into ‘In Orbit’ — a thematic body of work built on trust, experimentation, and a deep understanding of each other’s musical language. Both Joe Ford and Task Horizon bring their unmistakable styles to the table, but it’s in the space between where something truly special happens: a sense of shared authorship that allows each producer to shine without compromise.

Following the momentum of their recent floor-shattering single “Muleta”, Anglo-Russian duo Magnetude waste no time in delivering the next chapter in their arsenal with their deeply conceptual and emotionally charged single - “The Star”.

“The Star” draws inspiration from the reversed interpretation of the Star tarot card, which symbolises lost hope, self-doubt, despair, and disconnection. The track explores these themes with purpose—both musically and conceptually—while still leaving a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel. Anchored by a haunting vocal, the opening sets the tone with an eerie sense of vulnerability and unease, yet subtly alludes at the possibility of redemption, staying true to the dual nature of the card.
