"Xen" is the debut studio album by Venezuelan electronic musician Arca, released on November 4, 2014 through Mute Records. The album was recorded over a largely improvised six-month period in 2014. The album was supported by singles "Held apart", "Thievery" and "Now You Know" with promotional singles "Xen", A/B singles "Sad Bitch" and "Wound"

The producer is now based in Paris, and while his solo output has slowed his studio work has – if anything – accelerated. Completing work on Shygirl’s Mercury nominated album ‘Nymph’, he’s also linked with Caroline Polachek, Eartheater and more.

Out now, ‘Arena!’ opens a new era. Crafted alongside Safety Trance (AKA DJ Cardopusher), it’s a heady dose of electronic bedlam, packed with colour and innovation.

Never an artist to second guess, ‘Arena!’ utilises some hard-hitting percussion from Safety Trance, while it is also heavily imbued with Sega Bodega’s world-building finesse.

Sega Bodega says: “I came round to hang at Luis flat in Barcelona one afternoon and we jammed, this one idea that we started became ‘Arena!’ I love his drums so much and his sense of rhythm so to be able to work with him was such a gift!”

Safety Trance adds: “”In summer 2022 Salv happened to be in Barcelona for a few days so I invited him to my home studio to hang out. We showed each other some ongoing projects we were working on at that time and after having a great and inspiring listening session we started the first bits of ‘Arena!’ Salv came up with these beautiful synth hooks and I started to work on the rhythm part. We knew immediately we had something special that kept evolving over the next months.”
