In this track, the cultural mix and the influences of Berlin's electronic scene meet the experimental rhythms of Brazil. The voice of Berliner artist Kotoe and the beats of Brazilian producer Meraki come together in this cover-style version of one of Brazil's most famous songs.

The remix was inspired by the song "Tic Tic Tac", a composition by Braulino Lima that became better known when it was released by the Amazonian group Carrapicho, becoming the number one hit in various parts of the world in 1996.

__The Artists:

_Kotoe: @kotoek 
She was born in Japan, spent a great part of her life in Brazil and currently lives in Berlin. The cultural mix and the influences from the Berliner electronic scene are the result of her musical work where she takes textures from the Asiatic culture, South American sounds and mixes with dark beats and her own voice.

Her arrival in Berlin in 2015 made her fell in love with electronic music and to get involved and active in several collectives. Kotoe already presented herself in countries as: Japan, Chile, Germany, Croatia, Austria, Portugal and she was included in line ups from festivals such as Garbicz, Katzensprung, Moyn Moyn, Artlake and Melt.

Pedro Sugiura was born in Brazil and has his musical base inspired by the rich diversity of rhythms from his continent, always seeking to transmit this energy to the dance floors. Currently living in Amsterdam, Meraki has a unique identity and a very energetic sound.

Embora por muito tempo ela tenha se dedicado à atuação, a música sempre foi presente em sua vida.

About this edit :
The original piece was shown to me on a sunny afternoon last summer in Brazil by a very dear friend, who said “dude you gotta remix this song, it’s so beautiful”.
From the admiration I feel for this friend came the inspiration to start the project. The process felt nourishing especially when I was studying the chords since they’re not on the usual 4/4 progression.

Da Lata are Christian Frank and Patrick Forge. They worked with Gilles Peterson as DJs on the English pirate radio Kiss FM during the late 80s. The Duo Are Accompanied by Brazilian Vocalist Liliana Chachian and Portuguese Percussionist Oli Albergaria Savill.

We always want to introduce you to the artists behind the music. In this case it is Pedro aka @meraki4

He wrote a little text about the meaning of the song for him:

"Gezellig" pronounced like “Huhg-zell-hgick” is a word that I got in touch right when I arrived to Amsterdam and it has a very beautiful meaning: a blend of simple pleasures like cosiness, togetherness, conviviality, jolliness, contentedness.

And of course we also asked him three questions:

1) What is your favorite book to read?,
My favourite book to read is Sidarta by Hermann Hesse

2)if you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
 My superpowers would be ultra fast flying skills, teleportation, being able to raise my chi and change my appearance when I hit a certain level, shoot beams from my hands and super strenght, pretty much like the main character of Dragon Ball 🐉

3) What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)?
  The longest I've went without sleeping was during a summer solstice festival in Belgium where after not sleeping for one night me and two friends were supposed to close the main stage with a b3b at around 6pm and we ended up playing till 8am because everybody was having a lot of fun and didn't want to leave

Fiz uma versão eletronica desse hit dos anos 90 da Banda Carrapicho.
A letra foi composta por Braulino Lima em 1993 e selecionada em um festival de toadas no Amazonas.
Regravada em 1996 pela Banda Carrapicho, a música chegou aos ouvidos do produtor francês Patrick Bruel e levada para a Europa onde estourou e fez muito sucesso com a banda.
