The Horror

This is my submission to 8dio's 2015 Stand-Out Contest. In the track I use their amazing 1990 Prepared Studio Grand Piano almost exclusively for all the piano parts. I also used their Agitato Grandiose Legato Ensemble Violins Try-Pack for the string parts. I hope you enjoy!

pressed hard impressions
figure it's the truth to help us answer certain questions 
but who's in line to save us
our leaders straight played us
crooked eye politics 
dividing all our races 
these stages afraid it's not the safest
world to raise the youth
but then who's in line to change it?

triggered but the truth that
the youth well they can't face it
beat around the bush so as to not to melt their faces

PC courts and cases

can't we see what's happening here 
we're being baited 
hook line and sinker in this government equation
power to the people well then let's rise up and take it
not riot in the streets and perpetuate the hatred 
this manipulation of the news channels change it
believe nothing heard until the facts have been stated 
dictated by the media rules just how we take it
drama queens in high school really nothing changes
town criers in the quad it's the fools who relay it

oppressed by what faceless form 
and as they're running their mouths
choose to be victim of theoretical bouts 
but the math don't make sense 
when you're subtracting them out
terrorized by your own anger and your ignorant sounds
stand upon the pedestal fixed upon weakening grounds
foundations chipped away by the negative plows 
but then keep your arms extended while they're still handing them out 

American by birth 
so why can't we be proud
fixate on the past and repeat it but how 
start dropping n bombs and think you're holding it down?
you perpetuate the hate
with your ignorant sound 
claim to be excluded 
but who's targeted now?
just because i'm white

 a Culture and race 
 are synonymous sounds

i was raised to not see color
so stop you're pinning me down 
your hate blinds the truth from what's happening now

when gangs and street violence are what's glorified how?
Education is for all so stop clowning around
on all those in your hood who have the drive to get out 
claim they're acting white and not holding it down

not tuned in and stuffed in 
believe nothing of what you hear and only half of your visions

it brings us back to that prison

understand that not everyone's 
hate based as they're pacing around 
some faceless state sanctioned
fate but who's raising a brow

instigate and escalate 
some demonstration of power 
overcompensate the legislation intent to devour
understand that this land is mine and your

but the longer we stand here in hate
the more it sours
