The track is a  collaboration with the acclaimed musician/producer Joe Cross of 'The Courteeners' on production, alongside a Grammy-nominated, gold, and multi-platinum record mastermind overseeing the mastering. Brace yourself for an electrifying sonic experience like no other!

'Second life' is about the unfairness of being born into a bad situation whatever that may be, but then trying with every ounce of your soul to escape with the help of technology. There are also images linking to rebirth and renewal in the song, hence the reflected tree image in the artwork.

Mercury Machine are Manchester musicians Lee Maguire (lead vocals, guitar and producer), Tim Burge (lead guitar), Automan (drums) Carl Street (bass and vocals) and Rob Stockton (keyboards and vocals).

The band got together in 2013 after discovering their shared love for all things 80s. They take their influences from all the best bands of that time, including Simple Minds, Tears For Fears, Joy Division, Depeche Mode and The Cure.

Their debut EP 'Mercury Machine' was released in April 2013 and their debut album is currently under construction.
