Kuma is a Texas born producer/DJ, now residing in Oakland, CA. You may know Kuma for being 1/3 of the @freeradiodot collective. Kuma began his journey with music production about 5 years ago drawing inspiration from artists like DaftPunk and Deadmouse, before exploring genres like dubstep and heavy metal, and eventually making his way to trap and futurebeats. 

On today’s mix, coming in at around the 30 minutes, he features sounds ranging from trap, to futurebeats and some jersey club, It’s definitely a ride to remember.

Initially inspired by Lo-Fi house, he developed a unique, one of a kind sound for house remixes. Most recently, he began to take mixing seriously and I was very pleasantly surprised when he reached out, to be a guest on the show.

Azlay is a talented selector based out of Germany where she started her journey as a DJ during her masters. As a party goer, she quickly identified a need for better music at parties and took an interest in providing the music at those functions. It wasn’t long before she began playing professionally and shortly after, began producing her own music. Most recently, she released a Frank Ocean edit of Pyramids on Bandcamp. Dom is a selector straight out of my hometown of Oakland, CA. His style and music taste is described as a smooth blend of r&b, edits, house and Afrobeats.

I’m really excited to present my next guest, who goes by the name of @rubimental Rubi is a femme selector from Germany. Her style is described as a mix of afro beats, rnb, hip hop and future beats. She grew up listening to music by way of her older siblings and most recently, she decided to share her passion for music threw DJing. She draws inspiration from some of her favorite femme selectors in the industry, especially women of color. 

I discovered Rubi, when I came across her @gg-vybe guest mix on SoundCloud and I was blown away by her selection.
