Memory of Ken Block (RIP)

Rus İşgali sırasında Bitlis, bir harabe şehir görüntüsü alır. Düşmanın çekilmesinden sonra savaş esnasında Bitlis’ten kaçan bir baba oğul, Bitlis’e dönmek üzere yola çıkarak şehre hakim konumdaki Dideban Dağı eteğine varırlar. Baba, şehirde canlı kalıp kalmadığını öğrenmek için oğlunu şehre gönderir. Bir süre sonra oğul geri döner ve uzaktan babasına şöyle seslenir: ''Şehirde yaşama dair hiçbir iz yok; sadece beş tane minare ayakta kalmış'' bunu duyan baba yıkılır, diz çöker ve şöyle bir ağıt yakarak oğlunu yanına çağırır.

Bitlis birinci dünya savaşından önce nüfusu 30000´dır. Lakin savaş çıkınca halk göç eder ve nüfus 3000´e düşer.

Çarşamba, Ordu iline bağlı olan bir ilçedir. Doğal olarak bu türkü de o yöreye özgü bir eserdir. Bu bölgede bulunan Abdal Deresi'nin yakınlarında yaşayan Ahmet, yine bu bölgedeki Melek isimli bir kıza aşık olur. Melek de Ahmet'in aşkına karşılık verir ve çift sözlenirler. Ahmet, belli bir süre sonra askere gider. Kendisi askerde iken köyün ağasınınn oğlu olan Mehmet Ali ,Melek'e göz koyar. Melek'in Mehmet Ali'ye karşılık vermemesi üzerine Mehmet Ali adamları ile birlikte Melek'i dağa kaldırır.

Askerde iken bu durumu öğrenen Ahmet silahını aldığı gibi askerde kaçar. Dağ taş demeden Ahmet sevdiğini aramaya koyulur. Tam da bu sırada yoğun bir yağmur yağarak Çarşamba Ovası sular altında kalır. Büyük bir felaket yarattıktan sonra sel çekilir ve köylüler köy meydanında toplanırlar. Burada bulunan kayanın üzerinde iki kişinin cesedi vardır. Bu cesetler Ahmet ve Melek'e aittir.El ele tutuşarak ölen çiftin bulunduğu yerden su fışkırdığı rivayet edilir.
