As previously announced the forthcoming vinyl compilation LP “Transience" will feature a new recording of Lazarus, originally recorded by Porcupine Tree for the “Deadwing" album in 2004.  

To mark the release of this new version you can listen to my original demo of the song.  This was actually the first of two demos I made of Lazarus, and it features a very different middle 8, subsequently rewritten for the second demo and final album recording.  

Lazarus was one of several songs that were based on a film script that I was working on at the time with my friend Mike Bennion, and the David mentioned in the song is a central character in that script.

The Shadow Line

Dopo anni e anni di corte serrata gli uni nei confronti dell’altro, finalmente l’idillio tra noi (il complesso degli Elio e le Storie Tese, sì, quelli di Italia sì Italia no) e il Ministero della Salute è fiorito in un’iniziativa da fare invidia a tutte le iniziative promosse da altri complessi in collaborazione con altri ministeri, sia italiani che esteri.

Alcol Snaturato (Una serata speciale) è il suggello di questo progetto di respiro nazionale: una canzone molto bella – sia a detta di noi stessi, sia del ministero e sia di coloro che l’hanno ascoltata in anteprima – che sarà a brevissimo disponibile in streaming audio-video sul sito del ministero, in audio su supporto digitale e in generale sulle varie piattaforme di ‘sto famoso internet di cui ultimamente si fa un gran parlare.

Di cosa parla Alcol Snaturato (una serata speciale)? Di milleuno argomenti ma principalmente di uno, anzi di molti: il consumo di alcol tra i minorenni e l’abuso di alcol tra i giovanissimi; la tendenza a sottovalutare il problema; le conseguenze nefaste di quest’abitudine pessima, dalle patologie derivanti dall’abuso di alcol all’impressionante numero di morti che all’alcol sono riconducibili.

Una precisazione per i rompiballe: il complesso degli Elio e le Storie Tese non è astemio, e non condanna il consumo ragionevole e ragionato di alcol da parte di persone adulte ragionevoli e ragionate. Tuttavia ci tiene ad raggiungere l’età pensionabile in compagnia di tutti i ragazzi che affollano i suoi concerti (e quelli degli altri), fino a che questi ragazzi non diventeranno canuti (*), senza perderne nessuno per strada. O in strada, fra le lamiere di un’auto guidata da qualcuno tanto maggiorenne quanto ubriaco quanto pirla.

E… un grosso bacione dai vostri amici Elio e le Storie Tese.

TIM BOWNESS - Sing To Me

Merging Cluster is born during a cold month in Florence in 2010. 
It's a certain kind of rock that takes shape from the union of Gabriele Marconcini (Biofonia) vocals, Marco Casalini (Trigono, Profilo, Underskin) drums, Gianfilippo Innocenti (Chaos Venture) guitars, Emiliano Galli (Esterhazy, Biofonia) keyboards and Roberto Manzani bass.
The development of the project is slow and difficult, but determined. The group records under the direction of Fabio Cenni at Banshee Studio, which was put together again at the time by Emiliano Galli. They then decide to put themselves in the hands of Tommaso Bianchi's White Sound Studio for mastering.
Plans for 2014 include the release of an EP with four self-produced tracks, and live performances.
