Today we welcome Portuguese duo Mayze X Faria. Mayze X Faria is the best Portuguese duo that travels within the genres with which they most identify (Melodic Tech, Melodic House, and Tech House), bringing the atmosphere and feeling of true artists of the electronic music scene across boundaries, with nearly 20 years of experience.

Mayze X Faria’s journey begins in the Portuguese city of Braga in the year 2004. John Mayze and Miguel Faria shared similar musical tastes and a desire to write and produce their own tunes. They’ve developed a distinct personality in their production over time, revealing the signature that is now recognizable in their music. They have performed on festival stages and club booths on Portuguese and foreign terrain in countries such as Spain, Luxembourg, Colombia, and Angola since the beginning of their career. In 2020, they add the video projects X Places and Originals to their curriculum, and in 2021, they incorporate the Melodic Tech and Melodic House genres into the DNA of their creations with EPs like “Lady of Love” and tracks like “Red Rocks,” “Yellowstone,” and “El Cuento.” They finish the year with the Portuguese electronic music platform’s Talent Award 2021: 100 percent DJ. The award is granted for the musicians’ contributions to electronic music as well as for carrying their country’s flag around the world.

2022 will be a year of international confirmation for Portuguese producers, with the debut of their Live Set in Brazil, Mexico, and a number of other countries. Mayze X Faria promises to demonstrate the stability of sound scenarios traced with the extraordinary mastery that distinguishes them to all electronic music fans.

Internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner Darin Epsilon is often referred to as a pioneer of Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House. His Perspectives radio show and podcast reaches tens of thousands of listeners every month. He launched his Perspectives Digital record label in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community. As a gifted student of music from an early age, former record shop employee, and former director of a college radio station, Darin draws inspiration from his nearly encyclopedic knowledge and genuine appreciation of electronic music. He cites a variety of important influences in the past decade, from the early Leftfield and Future Sound of London albums, to the iconic Global Underground compilation series, to the sweeping sounds of Paul Oakenfold circa 1999, to Sasha & Digweed's mind-blowing Delta Heavy tour in 2002. 

If you have ever been in the audience to catch one of his live sets, it becomes immediately apparent that he is proficiently skilled as a DJ as well. 
His frequent flyer miles are continually on the rise with regular tours around the world. He has electrified audiences across the United States, as well as headlined dozens of countries across every habitable continent. 

Over the years, he has shared the spotlight with many of dance music's superstars including John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, James Zabiela, Armin van Buuren B2B Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, BT, and countless others. He has headlined over 7 major festivals by North America’s biggest promoter, Insomniac Events, and been invited to perform at Amsterdam Dance Event, Ultra Music Festival, Burning Man, BPM Festival, and South By Southwest (SXSW).

This mix is dedicated to the vibe of Sunday Afternoon.  Whether you’re kickin back and relaxin, out getting your adventure on, taking a Sunday cruise or just rejuvenating from a wild weekend - this is your soundtrack.  

The songs in this are some of my all-time favorites and it was really fun and challenging doing something a bit different.  There are no originals of mine in here and I didn’t play any trumpet as I’m no longer playing trumpet.  That being said I tried to bring something fresh and unique while still dropping in some throwback gems.  About 100+ hours went into putting this together, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
