Coming in as the eighteenth release is a selection of 5 textural wonderments from Swiss duo Atrice. Characterised by acute attention to detail, crystalline sound design and the mastery of spatial utilisation, their sound leaves a remarkable impact that will no doubt warrant multiple listens to really capture a sense of how meticulous their works are.

‘Accumulation Zone’ is a holistic release, formed through the recycling and transferal of sounds that cross from one track into the next, lending their features and motifs to one and other like an inorganic symbiotic creature metamorphosizing in hermetic space. The entirety of the release was produced during a stay in the Swiss Alps, casting an icy sheen over the whole collection of tracks. like a shimmering glisten as the warmth of the sun shines on the glacial surface of each piece. A complex unity of moods that complement the never-ceasing evolutionary sequencing and structure of each track.

Bint Mbareh (Dina Amro) is a sound researcher with a curiosity about the superpowers of communal singing. Her initiation into music came through her research on rain-summoning in Palestine. She conducted research initially to combat the myth of water scarcity pushed by Israeli settler colonialism. She learned that the songs that helped communities summon and harness rain, at their core helped people build a relationship with their environment, decide what time of year it is, communally determine how to share resources fairly, and that when used in current life, these uses could still be evoked, rather than remembered. She now studies death and rebirth as analogies for necessary upheavals, still looking for these significations in Palestinian landscape, especially the shrine of Nabi-Musa (AS), the prophet Moses.

She has performed at Mophradat's Read the Room festival (March 2022), Hoda Siahtiri’s symposium on Loss and Resilience (No Body’s Body) (April, 2022), at the Hiya Live Sessions in Dalston’s Jago (May 2022) London EFG Jazz Festival and AWAN, Ramallah's Exist Festival, has been resident with BUDA Kunstcentrum and performed at Next Festival, twice in the same year at Shubbak festival, proudly at Stonewall to Palestine, Brave Poets, as well as being Cafe Oto's Youth Music Resident for 2021.

Psychedelic meditations.

For anyone not yet familiar, bad lsd trips is a collaboration between artists doris dana and Domingo Castillo. Last year, they released an album on enmossed that mixes early industrial, dark ambient and drone into shape-shifting structures. It's quickly become a personal favourite. 

Their Theory Therapy mix is a special one. Like their music, it's refreshingly unpredictable and tonally distinctive – a seemingly disparate collage of hums and sounds that will firmly lodge itself into your brain. Enjoy the trip.

merma suelo is the first album of trans disciplinary poet and sound artist, Irene Trejo. an aqueous experiment that navigates the interconnectivity of our lives with water through raw, contemplative, live sound. experimenting with poetry, backed by her own musical creations, merma suelo reaches a deep listening state, conjuring the mystery of our aquatic nature, while we face an impending storm, an archetypal backdrop against which we define ourselves as a species.

Un juego sonoro que habita la dividualidad a consciencia de estar de cara al diluvio. De ya estar navegando en la serpiente, cuyos agujeros porosos son más difíciles de navegar debido a su visible, constante y veloz transmutación. Es un intento de conexión desde el afuera y a su vez dentro de un flujo donde somos grados oscilatorios en las aguas que nos arrastran. Es la memoria que vive en el agua, en el nombre, sentimiento, cuerpo.
Un álbum que mezcla poesía, ríos, lagos, performance, traducciones, conjugaciones, recuerdos y momentos sintetizados. Que experimenta entre devenires de un viaje ruidoso hacia la sopa. Bienvenides a la era líquida.
