Retrospec with a "C" not a "T"

Born and Raised in the city of Brentwood, Longisland,Ny Kashif "Retrospec" Howard is a MC, Producer and Engineer, musically inclined since the age of 11:listening to his mothers old r&b hits and records as well as his stepdads old hip hop CD’s. While in middle schoo, He wrote his first song at age 11 when he was going through family issues and the rest is history. At the age of 12 he started making beats for fun, then wanted to make it a career. At this age he lived in Virginia and started working on the mixtape “The Contrary” (which was never released) and songs surfaced on the internet website myspace.com in 2002 and 2003. He produced most of the beats on the album and wrote all the lyrics. He started getting known by his friends and relatives. Then in 2005 he moved to Florida, but the music never left his soul. Immediately he started working on his first official album/mixtape/demo Usual Suspects in 2005. It was finished in 2006 and he started getting the recognition he wanted. The album talked about the move from New York to Virginia To Florida and his real life experiences. The Intro on that album shows the transformation from The Contrary when he was a kid, to Usual Suspects as a teenager. He started getting more known for his production and rhymes in high school. By 2006 he was known around his high school. Battling his friends in rap battles during 10th grade, it was clear this is here to stay. The end of 2006 he started his 3rd mixtape/album The Chronicles Of A Prophet. This was a fresh batch of rhymes from Prophecy (what he was known by) with his clever metaphors and hard hitting beats. However he did not produce that many songs on this album, reason being he wanted to experiment on industry beats. By summer of 2007 it was finished and it was released. As he started getting known at the peak of his rising rap career around his school, something made it all freeze for a whole year and caused him to stop...a relationship. This caused him to put his music aside. Now at the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 with new programs and equipment he started working on records but never released another mixtape. Relocation occurred but his music was never put on hold again. However, with how he was raised and the music he listened to its obvious that the name would change. Now as Retrospec, walking around his college with a boombox he was born. He teamed up with local rising group BMB (Brotha’s Making Bread) and stormed twitter with 1000 downloads on the first day of its release. Almost immediately after the group traveled to Houston and took it by storm at “Stilettos” nightclub. Now on heavy mind altering and life changes Retrospec will be back in the studio for his official mixtape release. In Feb 2012 he dropped the "Scribbling Freedom On Pages" Mixtape which displays things he's been going through around that time, as well as in being Inspired By Common. In July 2012, Retrospec packed up and moved back to his hometown of New York to link up with upcoming Hip Hop SuperGroup "Tribe NYC". Since, the crew has performed at many places around the five boroughs, as well as BB Kings in Manhattan. October 2012 the crew dropped "The Cypher" which featured most of the vocalist as far as MCin, Myself, The 80s Baby, Kid Love, and Chill Fontaine. The Cypher was featured on websites such as Vevo and Youtube, obtaining over 30,000 views. Now in 2013, The crew has worked on many tracks that will be releasing this year. Kid Love's Year Of The Tribe, The 80s Baby's first mixtape, and Chill Fontaine's project. As well as a couple of other members like Prynce Divoe and Teddy Jam. In July 2013, The crew released "Thug Passion" a track that samples the Tupac original. It caused attention on Tumblr and Instagram, which eventually caught attention of Worldstarhiphop.com. Within 2 weeks Tribe NYC's "Thug Passion' was on Worldstar. Retrospec has been working on a 23 track mixtape for the last year called "Deep Thoughts and NBA Games" which originally was supposed to release on July 23rd but got pushed back due to having a couple of music videos and things that are in the process of editing before releasing such a tape. Retrospec is also in the works of a second project since his move to NY. His influences include Rakim, Big L, Nas, Big Pun, Common, Ghostface, Cam'ron, and Theophilus London. / B^)
