The Haven - OST Heroes Of Might And Magic 4

Conquer New Lands is a fantasy/celtic song, meant to be played in the background of a scene. I wrote this song, imagining ships of vikings slowly sailing towards enemy shores. Although vikings were my inspiration for this song, I wanted it to be heavily celtic with a feeling of drama.

At the time I was composing this song, I had just got new pipe sounds and was really wanting to try it out. As you can maybe tell, I wasn't too good with pipes on keys back then.

Viking Music - Conquer New Lands

This album is a journey across centuries and cultures — weaving together the elegance of classical music, the soul of folk traditions, and the emotion of timeless popular melodies. From the serene beauty of Bach’s “Air on a G String” and the haunting “Meditation” by Massenet, to the heartfelt modern classics “Unchained Melody” and “Time to Say Goodbye,” each track tells its own story.

Listeners are carried from the joyful celebration of “Hava Nagila” and “Funiculi Funicula”, through cinematic reflections like “Cavatina” from The Deer Hunter and the poignant “Ashokan Farewell,” to songs of love, hope, and farewell such as “The Rose” and “Wind Beneath My Wings.”

At its heart, this collection is about mood and memory: music that uplifts, comforts, and connects. A versatile blend for every listener — whether you’re drawn to the intimacy of chamber music, the grandeur of theatre, or the nostalgia of beloved film themes.

Shoreline of Silence is a purely orchestral interlude, bridging the chaos of The Tempest with the grief-laden entrance of The Widow’s Oath. Lasting only a few minutes, it functions as both aftermath and anticipation: the sea’s fury collapses into hush, leaving the stage cleared for the widow’s voice.

The music begins storm-charged, with tremolo low strings, brass stabs, and timpani rolls evoking the final echoes of the gale. Surf-like 12/8 energy surges and falters, then gradually dissolves through a long decrescendo, textures thinning until only harp arpeggios, soft woodwinds, and string harmonics remain. Beneath it all, a slow heartbeat pulse suggests life persisting in the silence.

The intermezzo ends unresolved, in pianissimo, like the breath before a vow. The shoreline is quiet now, but its hush carries weight — the silence of loss, of memory, of fate unspoken. From this fragile stillness, the widow will rise.
