The horn coming through the mix and fading out sounding amazingly dynamic and returns into the mix in an amazing way. The deepness hitting the listener is amazing, really feeling the delay added upon the horn where it fades out subtle! The first drop is epic, feeling how the low-end moves around the low-end spectrum with complete control and freedom. The kick and snare are solid, hitting hard with some interesting reverb etc. Break-wise it's amazing way to build up towards the second drop! Second drop is straight fire, what a control on the low-end and those growls are just too much along with the delayed elements coming through. What a tune to rinse out on a system, this has been an amazing 5 minute journey! Thanks a bunch Deco & Mesck! xxX -K.

Hailing from Carlisle (UK), producer and DJ Hypho is representing all shades of UK bass music with experimental beats ranging from 100-140 BPM. Denver's newest resident by way of Los Angeles, Chef Boyarbeatz offers a unique perspective on underground bass production. The Icon Collective grad earns recognition from both mainstream and underground production elites with his nostalgic take on heavy breaks and UK-inspired soundscapes.

With releases on a variety of notable labels including Deep Dark and Dangerous, Deadbeats, and Bassrush, Chef Boyarbeatz takes obscure sounds to new heights. Not only known for his production prowess, his unique DJ sets have captivated fans at every stop. The last two years have seen exponential growth for the project both in the studio and on stage. In 2022, his track "Steady Slurkin'" was voted the #1 dubstep song of the year, and landed him headlining dates across the country. The following year saw a surge in festival dates with breakout performances at Infrasound, Okeechobee, and Insomniac's Apocalypse. With support from Skream, Zeds Dead, Of The Trees, Ternion Sound, and many more, this year ushers in the dawn of Chef's hand-crafted curated lineups, major tour support for Boogie T, and more iconic festival appearances.

This program’s mission is to create a space for artists to tell their story. The BASSment has been a place for so many artists to feel free to play music they may not normally get to play out. During the interview segment the guest artist will get to talk about where they have come from, things they are working on and where they would like to see themselves going in the future.

S01E11 ft CHEF BOYARBEATZ

A monthly collaborative project for producers. Come collab with us!

Each month we will put up a pack of samples from a different producer, this month we have a pack from the mighty District (Chestplate)! District has made a name for himself with a very distinctive sound, and even has his own series of sample packs for sale (https://soundcloud.com/district/district-dark-dangerous & https://soundcloud.com/district/sets/demo-sounds-district-dark-dangerous-sample-pack-vol-2).

Over the following month we want producers out there to download the samples and get to work creating beats. At the end of the month, we'll compile the most interesting results into a mix. And release the dopest beats for free via Deep, Dark & Dangerous.

Here's a demo District put together to show you this month's samples.

This is NOT a competition, it's a chance to interact and collaborate with other producers of the Deep, Dark & Dangerous persuasion. It's all about stimulating creativity, getting people involved and inspired. Because the end product is a mix, tracks don't necessarily need to be fully laid out, an intro leading to a sick drop concept could be just as powerful as a 5 minute long masterpiece. Just get in there and get your hands dirty, the more interesting and original the better!
