Lattice 001 is the first of a series forthcoming on Mesh curated by Max Cooper and Mesh. 

The project invites artists and producers to stretch the boundaries of their creativity, offering listeners an auditory experience that blends cutting-edge electronic beats with references from across the musical spectrum. It comprises a compilation of unreleased material and Mesh catalogue to yield connection and collaboration on the platform. 


Lattice 001 features Istanbul based sound designer and artist, Pleizel, who will perform at EartH on 1st December with Max Cooper and Alex Banks. Niels Orens, electronic artist and composer, of which this release serves as a debut release on the platform. Mesh originals, Llyr and Non Square come forth with never-heard before releases. Whilst French based Odalie, emboldens the compilation with single ‘Battements’ from their recent acclaimed debut album on Mesh, Puissante Vulnérabilité. 

The artwork has been created by Swiss artist, Colin Droz, our resident graphic designer.

Honey Mango - HunRosa Remix.
I collaborated with HunRosa collaborated recently on a different ambient project, and being impressed with his sound and approach. it was a simple choice to ask him to remix a track.
HunRosa has completely transformed the piece into a dark and techy dance floor smasher by chopping up the woodwind, kora loops, Sarathy Korwars tabla, and adding techno beats. HunRosa is also known for providing low end for the cinematic orchestra, and for this remix he’s created a 3D ambisonics mix which is best appreciated on good quality headphones.

In a bloopy mood - Synkro remix
I have been listening to Synkro’s music for years, so was delighted when he approached initially asking to stock the 7” in his Stockport record store SK1 records, and subsequently offering a remix. It was this offer that sparked the idea for a remix release. Here Synkro provides his trademark rolling bass and crisp dubby beats, transforming In a Bloopy Mood into a sound system friendly heavyweight tune.

It was many years ago, experimenting with Jason Singh in his studio and on stage in Manchester venues that I was inspired to start investigating the use of electronics combined with the kora. Jason has been such huge influence in me discovering this sound that this remix comes full circle. Jason brings his genius approach to this remix creating fascinating textures, taking the original piece to a new dimension.

Paita is a project of musician and sound producer Kolya Dolgov, currently living in Moscow.

In 2021 the album "What is not" was released, which became the starting point in the formation of the young artist's style and sound.
Experiments with dub and ambient, explorations of "raw" electronics and new-age, participation in punk bands as a bass-guitarist, moves, travelling, meetings and breakups, love and hate. The line of changes through which both the musician and his lyrical hero passes stretches to the new release "Southern Man".

"Southern Man" is an album-metamorphosis, it is a story or better to say a notebook, about the changes that a young guy goes through. Accustomed to seeing the emptiness of the horizon, he is met with monolithic granite structures, and instead of the great water of the sea, there is now a river winding subtly in channels. 'It's what's inside, but you can listen to it' says Пайта (Paita).

The album features collaborations with label residents FMSAO, Shoom Berez, X.Y.R. , NWIII, as well as guest artists 8luetic and Молох. Here you can hear gentle pop ambient, uncomplicated balearic house, juke and dub.

tp Dutchkiss is the solo moniker of LA-based producer Spencer Hartling. His debut full-length, high functioning, out now on Leaving Records, is a probing eleven-track collection teetering between jittery beats and experimental songwriting. Imaginatively high-functioning, but also just functioning while high, it turns to an array of unorthodox recording techniques to build melody into the very structures of dance music it straddles. high functioning works it all out, breaking through to a new place of earnestness.

Though technically presenting a first effort, Hartling is no beginner. Owner and operator of Wiggle World recording studio, tape loop experimentalist and co-author of zine Show Invisibles, or How to Make a Tape Loop, his solo live performances are workshops in improv ambient and dubbed out, forward-thinking hardware play. A member of “rock” band Harry the Nightgown, the fledgling experimentalist thrives in collaboration, having lent his chops to ventures with artists like Colloboh, Cherry Glazerr, Ohr and Qu’ran Shaheed.

high functioning itself wasn’t born in isolation. Conceived and recorded not only in Hartling’s home city of Los Angeles, but crucially also on the road across the world, in Lithuania and on the Mediterranean, its protean sounds feel like notes to people far and near – buzzed, maximalist, often touching, especially when less than clear-headed.

And yet, high functioning is also a showcase for Hartling’s unique approach to songwriting. Not quite cocooned in the collection’s jagged soundscapes, the emphasis on harmony at its core emanates outward, shining through melody-carrying bass chord changes and halting arrangements. It is more a form of illumination than of lucidity: high functioning’s compositions may jerk and flutter, as analog gear and glitching drum machines grind and warble into each other, but they reveal a loving care for melody that is irregular to the straighter genres the record inhabits.

Rooted in Hartling’s years of sound-first experimentation, high functioning’s upper-downer, unorthodoxly pop-driven take on dance music is never too intelligent for its own good. As it starts, stops and pivots over and over, it makes way for what much music of similar ilk doesn’t get to express: an almost vulnerable intimacy, “sweet like everything.” Alexa, bump up the warm jets.
