Deep Melodic Techno

Being inspired by music of Alex Banks & Max Cooper I turned on my old Polivoks synthesizer and made some recordings. The idea of this track came up on this train. I enjoyed how sounds of rail crossing, coupling of wagons create interesting patterns and textures. So I recorded them and used in my new music research. Ce jam exprime des trucs que j'arrive pas à dire , il m'a permis de parler et de voyager à ma manière , d'où son nom , je voulais partir loin , passer un message , je pense  . Il m'a permis de me déconnecter l'espace d'un instant , de poser mon cerveau , je jam pas d'habitude , je bosse depuis 8 ans sur fl , la mao est une musique de réflexion , on réfléchi , on cherche mais finalement on perd en expression , on passe notre temps a compter nos mesures , à regarder cette putain de grille dans laquelle on pose nos patterns , on regarde plus notre musique qu'on la vit .

Fait avec une digitakt 1 et une syntakt , j'ai ajouté un peu de drones et quelques filtres en post prod pour rendre le tout plus riche , j'ai utilisé le mixeur de FL 12 pour mixer et processer tout ça , la track n'est pas parfaite , j'ai encore un peu du mal avec ce type de workflow .

After is a small summer hiatus Floorfiller Music is back with its most anticipated release to date. Techno virtue Joyhauser delivers an astonishing new track with two remixes. One by a techno legend and one by a true Drumcode revelation: Marco Bailey & Kevin de Vries.

The original track evokes with a busting kick, blipping 303 stabs and a deep rumbling sub-bass. An emotional synth chord sets sail and not much later leads into the key element of the track: a spooky dark melody line from somewhere out of space. The track falls in utter darkness again. Sharp compressed percussion shatters rhythmically on top of the unrelenting bouncing kick. This is truely a dancefloor killer for every time of the night.

Marco Bailey's rendition is much more straightforward. A bonking kick and acid line take you in right away. Supporting the mesmerizing 303 is the endless synth-chord from the original. This repetitive mayhem is later accompagnied by sharp resounding snare rolls and hard hitting percussion. The acid pattern get's more and more aggressive and everything eventually culminates in a resonance driven climax.

Kevin de Vries signature sound is heard very clearly in his take of Bad Generator. He takes the melodic components of the track and sculpts them into an epic trance lead line. Feelings of devotion emerge when this note-pattern is heard. The drop seems to leave nothing more to be desired but eventually the track leads the listener beautifully into its last final act, only wanting more.

Mark Reeve makes his welcome return to the Drumcode fold with a powerful three-tracker ‘Far Away’.

In recent years Mark Reeve has become a pivotal member of the Drumcode crew. His 2015 EP ‘Run Back’ was a standout, before he backed it up strongly with ‘Nine of You’, his collaboration with Adam Beyer that featured on A-Sides Vol.5, ensuring his place in the hearts of DC fans. As further evidence of his importance to the collective, Beyer has selected him to suit up for the inaugural Drumcode Festival happening this August in association with Awakenings. 

Harking back to formative times in the ‘90s when he’d frequent Sven Väth’s legendary Omen in Frankfurt, the title track to Reeve’s ‘Far Away’ is a timeless beauty, driven by a celestial melody line and emotive bass notes that lobs it into the kind of laser-kissed territory that would make even the most jaded of raves throw their arms skyward. ‘Fragile’ follows, a classy bass-driven cut that makes its mark with deep subterranean stabs and punchy kicks. Rounding out the EP is ‘Redemption’ a tougher, heads-down techno workout imbued with plenty of energy thanks to a crafty bass melody that runs throughout.

Victor Ruiz - Rainbow In The Dark

Initially materialising as a fully fledged happening, The Last Trip is ultimately available in tangible sonic form, as a mini-compilation of party-friendly styles under the Techno umbrella rolled into 12 exclusive tracks.

Classically trained instrumentalist and Cocoon alum Malandra Jr. kicks off proceedings on a dynamic note with a pair of blissed-out tracks featuring blossoming synths, supple drums and whirring glitches. Citizen Kain follows suit with two energy-loaded numbers, the more dreamy and spaced out 'Crush', followed by the vocal-heavy 'Balance'. Next up is German producer Heerhorst who takes a turn for deep and pensive melodies with 'Centaurus', while 'Hydra' stands out with powerful synths and a rattling beat. Bold, intense synths are also at the core of Transcodes 'String Theory' and 'Molecular Cloud', with the former offering a massive breakdown fit for peak time, and the latter a more resolute atmosphere overall. In the releases final quarter, we find Olivier Giacomotto with two tribal-tinged constructions, the slow burner 'Moonshine', and its more unhinged counterpart, 'Bonobo'. Made in Paris rounds off the Trip with a couple of stirring slices brimful of radiating synths and spacious breakdowns.

All in all, a steady trickle of dancefloor-primed pieces setting off sparks of all the different types of energy needed to sustain a coalescent set.

In jewish mythology, Ziz, a gigantic bird that is so big it is able to darken the sun with its wings, ends the fight between the rivals Behemoth and Leviathan. It represents the element air in the mythological triangle. 
The track's purpose is to mimic the creature's colossal but also air-based character through a wide, airy sound with a solid base.
