This is the “Svetoglas” group’s first musical project and many well-wishers will be entranced, enraptured and will relish this ambitious album with its well-found name: “The Wheel of Life”.
But perhaps “Svetoglas” have gone beyond their original intentions and achieved an impressive unity between Bulgarian musical polyphony and the vocal harmony of everyday traditional life in Bulgaria, between polyphony as a musical term and vocal harmony as a form of folk philosophy.
The content of this album is circumspect and symbolic in terms of the relationship between genres: it features only a few Slavonic Orthodox chants, while almost all of the themes are interpreted through traditional songs, from mythical trances engendered by the sun, the moon and the evening star, through the "Butterfly" custom and the harvest, through love, weddings, yearning for youth and the death of a brigand to that lament from North-East Bulgaria, where the song turns into weeping and the weeping turns back into song. This is not about relative quantities in the content. It is about the message coded in the selection, the order of play and especially the arrangement of the songs.
The secret of this album’s great success lies in its impeccably fulfilled concept: good old traditions translated into contemporary language and cloaked in the modern sensitivity of the present day.

Messechina music was founded in 2006 by Victor Lilov and Yordan Yordanov, a well known managers of Balkan music stars such as the Karandila Gypsy Brass Orchestra, Ivo Papasov and other Bulgarian performers. The Messechina Music production and artists management company is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and specializes in producing and promoting contemporary Bulgarian music based both on the rich heritage of Balkan traditions and on modern fusions of jazz, world music, electronic &amp; acoustic sounds.
